I’m planning a fall 2025 trip to Hawaii. This is our first time to Hawaii, and a family trip with small children, so something relaxing is preferred. A day trip to Pearl Harbor might be in the plans. With 4 adults and 2 children, we will need a 2 bedroom villa. We plan to do a good amount of cooking/eating in the villa so a full kitchen is a must. Overall, for a first trip to a Marriott in Hawaii, Ko Olina seems like a solid choice.

I had a few questions that hopefully you folks can help me with.

1. Is it difficult to book a Ko Olina oceanview 2 bedroom for mid-to-late September with points? We'd be booking 12 months out. We own an enrolled week at MGO.
2. Which building(s) are preferred? Does the building make a big difference with an oceanview?
3. Do Marriott owners need to pay a parking fee? Seems renting a car might be the easiest way to get to the resort from the airport, make grocery runs, and do a day trip.
4. What are the best grocery options? Are there grocery stores nearby? Delivery?

Thanks in advance!

We love the Ko Olina resort and it sounds like it would be a great fit for your trip.

1. I don’t think you will have any problem booking a 2 BROV unit for September.
2. The Naia tower is closest to the ocean and has a pool right in front of it, including a water slide. If you book a non-lockoff unit it will be in this tower. It also has lock-off units. Moana tower is towards the back of the resort and has a kids pool and a regular pool in front of it. The view from floors 6 and above are very good and Marriott owners are usually put in these upper floors. The Kona tower is where the main lobby is located as well as the general store and a restaurant. It is the most centrally located tower. There are grills near each of the towers.
3. Marriott owners and those who rent from owners get complimentary parking. We always rent a car because we like to explore the island.
4. Grocery stores are located in Kapolei, which is only a few miles away. They have a Safeway, Walmart, and Costco there as well as a number of restaurants. There is also a small market in the Ko Olina development for one off items you may need later.

Have a great trip!
