Writing to those who have stayed at or are familiar with Kingstown.
We received an email today from Wyndham that PR suites will now be available for booking tomorrow.
Can you give us your impressions of this resort? Types of units in this resort.
Thanks,
Richard

It's a Worldmark property, not a Club Wyndham one. Are you saying your email states that they switched branding to Club Wyndham?

The property started out as pure Worldmark, but when the two new buildings were added, they let Club Wyndham owners book into them but then I beleive last year they converted it to Club Pass as the units were conveyed over to Worldmark. So the only way for Wyndham owners to book in was through Club Pass. I don't know for sure if or when that actually happened.

We have stayed at the resort twice and there isn't anything special about it. A small pool and I think they finally added a bar at the pool area. They do have a nice mini golf course and a few activities, but it is a pretty quiet resort. I do have a playlist of videos from Kingstown Reef on my YouTube channel.

The rooms were nice and not dates. Clean as well. The resorts itself was beautiful but there was a hotel nearby that we though was abandon, but we saw people going in and out. They did add a pool bar area, but as another stated, it's not a large pool. I am ok with that, but others who might like to swim might find it crowded during peak season. We stayed in a two bedroom and three bedrooms. Both were laid out nicely and roomy.

I am surprised to hear they added PR units since they removed Club Wyndham inventory from the exchange.

Here is a portion of the email.
Does not mention a club pass is required, but it wouldn't be the first time Wyndham didn't communicate fully or accurately. Thanks for your impressions.

Well, wouldja look at that!

Here we assumed that when they pulled Kingstown Reef out of Club Wyndham and made it Club Pass only, they were moving all the inventory to Worldmark - but it looks like maybe they were converting that inventory to Presidential Reserve instead!

The resort page for Club Wyndham Kingstown Reef is active again and has a PR points chart (which for some reason is formatted completely differently from the rest of the points charts), as well as floor plans for most of the units.

It would not be a choice for me, given the many options I have to me via exchange and via Wyndham. Below Cypress Palms. Reunion would be lovely but too far from Disney.

Seems like it would be good for a non-Disney Orlando trip - Sea World, Universal. I’ll be interested to see how much demand there is for the PR price point (points point?) outside of Bonnet Creek.

We snagged bargain RCI 2BR reservations at WorldMark Orlando Kingstown Reef twice -- 7 Nights For 10,000 Points & Below both times (essentially, the points version of Last Call). The actual RCI points outlay both times was 7,500 (plus exchange fee).

First time we were there, they signed us up for a timeshare sales presentation for the promised reward of a $100 gift card + a Resort Certificate good for a 1-week timeshare reservation booked through the Resort Certificate system. (Via the Resort Certificate, we snagged a Star Island reservation for a full-kitchen 1BR unit, which we gave to our grand-niece & her husband.)

Wow - it better be spectacular to be 175,000 points more than Bonnet Creek for a 4 bedroom unit; quick math estimates 30-50% more per room type than BC depending upon the season.

Are there any non PR Club Wyndham units there? Two of the four buildings were Club Wyndham. I wouldn't think they converted them all to Club Wyndham PR. Perhaps they conveyed some units over to Worldmark and made some into PR?

I can tell you, it isn't anywhere close. Perhaps the rooms are much better, but the resort certainly isn't. I wouldn't necessarily call Kingstown Reef a "resort".

I've watched your resort tour, studio and 1 bedroom videos and there's no way these rooms are worth more than the Presidentials at BC. They have them priced the same as Clearwater and the hotel side 1 bedroom units go for $1,600/night.

The PR rooms are no longer available in Worldmark so they must have moved those units to Wyndamn

Has anyone been able to upgrade a PR unit at Kingstown Reef at the time of booking? The several times I tried booking a one bedroom PR unit the upgrade wasn't offered even though there were units available.

We tried June 15, 2023, for 3 days and 7 days, and a 2BR PR upgrade (from 1BR PR) was offered. Of course, you have to be with 60 days to get the auto upgrade.

I just now tried the dates you mention plus a variety of other dates all within the 60 day window. I tried different size units when there was a larger unit available. Every time it skipped right over the upgrade option. We're developer PR owners so I should definitely be offered the upgrade at the time of booking. I'm not having this issue at other resorts just Kingstown Reef.

I foresee call to Owner Call in my future to get them to create a ticket for IT to fix this.

I played with it, too, at Kingstown Reef. I am VIP Founders. Also skipped over the upgrade option for me.

There are 9 PR units at Kingstown Reef, 1 1 bedroom, 4 2 bedroom, 2 3 bedroom, 2 4 bedroom

That's rediculous. The point cost of these rooms also make it pointless to even book here on Club Wyndham points. Why would anyone pay Clearwater prices for a resort like Cypress Palms?
