Will be headed to Kingsland in a few weeks. We’ve stayed there before. I have a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom reserved. Can I make a request for which building and level? I prefer the North side, same side as the check-in and pool. Can anyone offer a suggestion on building number?

Also, we can just check in at poolside and get a wristband to use the Hilton Waikoloa facilities free of charge? That hasn’t changed? Anyone know what the self park day rate is over there?

And is Merriman’s recommended in Waimea? I think I will return to Brown’s at Fairmont Orchid and Tommy Bahamas.

Lava Lava Beach, The Fish and the Hog, the Italian restaurant at Waikoloa Village… all still good? I don’t remember the name of the Italian restaurant but it was across the parking lot from the KTA supermarket near Bank of Hawaii. Don’t see it now, did it close or move?

Thanks.

My only complaint with Pueo Osteria was that it was deafeningly loud when I was there. We sat outside and our table of four was basically forced to yell at each other all dinner, contributing to the problem.

If you haven't done it, I can't recommend the helo tours through Blue Hawaiian enough. The Kohala coast is breathtaking.

Call the front desk a week before check-in and put in your location request. Request it again when you check in. They will try to accommodate you but no guarantee.

I'm sorry to hear that. We went when it was still in the old location and loved it. Some of the best food I've had on the Big Island.

It has been a few years since we've been on the Big Island but we loved the restaurant at the Four Seasons Hualalai. It's now 'Ulu Ocean Grill, it had a different name back then.

Also since Sansei in the Queen's Shops.

It is expensive, but it's the definitely the best choice of what's nearby. Super wonderful.

You can definetly put in a request by calling, some room types only exist in certain buildings which might limit their ability to keep you near each other.

I beleieve parking is free for Kings Land guests, both at Kings Land and at the hotel with validation.

We were just at Kings Land last month, Bldg 11, it’s the farthest away building and a long walk to the pool. We also love our favorite spots Lava Lava, Fish and Hog, Tommy Bahama. New favorites discovered this trip Big Kahuna, Pancho & Lefty’s, and Gypsea Gelato (Kealakekua location). As always we really enjoyed our time on island.

Are you sure about the free parking at the Hilton? I thought everyone, including hotel guests, had to pay for it. What type of validation are you referring to?

As I posted a little earlier I think you can get free valet parking if you are using the spa or restaurants. I know we got this some years back for the spa.

Kings Land guests have historically received free self parking at the Hilton Waikoloa. KL provides a charge card at check-in, and you give that to the valet who validates your parking ticket so you can exit without charge.

Interesting. So hotel guests have to pay but Kingsland guests do not.

Last year, I called a number of months (maybe 10) in advance and got just what we wanted. We book a Phase I room type, so only buildings 1-4. I requested a specific pair of buildings and a first floor room, and got it. Now, based on last stay, I have requested specific room numbers for November :)

Cheers.

Correct, although I believe Kings Land owners pay a fee in their MF for this access.
Another question. You said Kings Land owners pay for this is their maintenance fee. Do Kings Land guests, someone who has traded in, or rented there, get parking at the hotel free as well?

Yes. Just by booking KL we all get it.

Cheers.

LOL. So how do the Kings Land owners, who pay for this through their Maintenance fees, feel about everyone else who stays there gets the same benefit?

Probably the same way I, as a W. 57th owner, feel about all the other folks who use HGVC points and get to enjoy NYC, which I pay for: it's how the system works.

Cheers.

I own at KL, and it does not bother me at all. Since i always make club booking with points, i would definetly not like it if they somehow changed this to home week reservations only.

I've mostly stayed at KL as an RCI exchanger, which comes with a bonus "because we can" fee charged per night. I think the total cost of accommodations is a bargain, so I happily pay it.

And of course, at W57 only owners are allowed to use the lounge...

Would you mind very much telling me which rooms you've asked for? We're going in December and since I currently have a hip problem, the type of room you've requested would probably be perfect for us. 2 bedrooms?

These are 1BR in our case. And we ask for Buildings 3 or 4, first floor. These are two of the four Phase 1 buildings.

Cheers.

So you recommend Phase I. Are the 2 bedrooms also available in Phase I. I was in Building 4, 2nd floor, in a 1 bedroom before and enjoyed that room. Any other recommendations on buildings and floors or rooms?
