Kings' Land or Bust

For those of you who have been to the BI, I would appreciate your insight:

What is the 1 BDRM Premier at Kings' Land like? (I've heard its not worth the extra points, but how does it compare to the other rooms?)

I know Kings' Land is all about golf and not near a beach. We don't golf...but couldn't get into the HGVC Waikoloa in mid-March...all 2 BDRMs anyway. How does Kings' Land compare to the HGVC Waikoloa or Bay Club?

Any other tips on Kings' Land and surrounding area would really be helpful.
(I know about the access to Hilton Waikoloa and that it's really a good perk.)

I stayed at all the resorts around Kingsland and that was my favorite. It was never crowded and the pool is beautiful. Plus you can use the Hotel pool as well. The beach is walking distance and Hapuna Beach, which is great is about 6 miles. The food there was actually reasonably priced as the other TS there don't have much in that department.

Our one bedroom was the middle one which gave us an end unit on the ground floor and was very nice. I guess an end unit on the top floor could be better but we had no complaints.

We love it there and will be back.

The pool area at Kings Land is beautiful, really relaxing, not too crowded. And all of the Hilton hotel is not to be missed. There's really no "bad" view at the HGVClubs; just not an ocean view. But none of the Hilton Waikaloa property - HGVClubs and the hotel - have a real beach (but the lagoon area at the hotel is fun).

We stayed at the HGVC Waikaloa early December, and attended the HGVC Timeshare Sales Presentation and toured the Kings Land property. We definitely want to stay at Kings Land the next time we visit!

If you're in to coffee, you should tour one of the Kona Coffee farms. Very interesting (and being from Seattle, we love coffee!). We never made it to Volcano National Park (we drove the northern route and got distracted by all the beautiful waterfalls and gardens). Next time we visit the Big Island, we'll take a day or two before or after our time in the Kona area and explore more of the Hilo area and Volcanos National Park.

We just came back from Kingsland. We like the super pool. My kid have fun with the slide. We enjoy Kingsland pool better than Hilton since hot tub is not many people. There are 3 hot tubs. In Hilton, tons of people in the 2 small hot tubs. The water in Hilton is a bit colder than in Kingsland pool.

Stayed at Kings Land May 2011 and it was beautiful. It is remote in location so best to get your groceries at Kona when you arrive at the airport. There is also a Costco at Kona but we didn't go there. There is a close-by grocery near the resort but its not cheap. We were in a 1 bedroom PLUS on the ground floor steps away from the smaller/secondary pool. Hapuna is a close-by public beach and worth the visit. When we went, we swam with turtles. The bellhops/attendants will lend you beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys for free (just ask.) At the pool bar, they had a happy hour every afternoon with $6 drinks.

Spent a week at Kingsland in April 2011 and it was amazing. One of the best TS properties I have ever stayed at. Very quiet, great service and very beautiful around. Nice shared grills, transportation, nice tiki bar, great pool, etc.
