Key West Sunset Harbor

Why not just respect the request? What is so hard about that? I also pointed out that I have also lived in Key West and know what I like to do when there and I wan't asking for opinions. Plus, I get a notification each time a reply is posted, completely wasting my time. Your post was also just your opinion, and did not add any value to this post. Why take the time to even respond. Fortunately, I was able to ignore Scoop and will no longer see messages from him.

Ok I am not going to belabor the point. You seem to think that an internet forum has some sort of official rules whereby no one is allowed to express an opinion, and must answer the specific question asked. Not sure why you think that, but it is not the case. People are allowed to go on tangents or say whatever as long as they are not abusive.

Here's an example:

"Anyone ever eat at Conch Republic in Key West? Any opinions?"

"I've never eaten there, but if you want a special treat I highly recommend Latitudes on Sunset Key, went with my wife and we loved it!"

"I asked about CONCH REPUBLIC, you moron! Why are you wasting my time with your unsolicited opinions. Answer my question or keep your pointless observations to yourself!"

Rather obnoxious, no?

This is a very well thought out comment. I just assumed Justynac was a troll from the Sunset Harbor vote discussion who was bored and who's sole purpose was to aggravate other posters and ultimately disrupt any meaningful exhange of ideas.

Wow, found this way too late to help the initial poster, but it was amusing to read the replies. It costs us $75 for the week in the garage, but you must own at SH. If you own anywhere else, it is at least double. And if you rent I am not sure you can get in the garage. Since we drive down each year from NY, it would be hard to not have a car in KW, but we do mostly leave it in the garage.

Since when did they start charging owners $75 to park in the garage for the week? It was $25 a few months ago. And yes, if you rent you may pay to park in the garage but it's always been a higher rate than owners pay.

We were there in October and were charged $75.

Key West isn't very vehicle friendly but there are a lot of people that drive there so of course have a car. Or want to drive the Keys which is a beautiful drive. An alternative if you don't need a car while staying at the resort would be to park at the airport and taxi or Uber to resort. Last time I was down the airport parking was not bad. But that has been a few years.

When relatives came to visit, they stayed at the Hyatt hotel and parked in a garage. I suggested we meet for breakfast at Pepe's. They drove there -- and ended up parking even farther away from Pepe's. It would have saved them a lot of time and walking to just walk from the Hyatt to Pepe's. Most places in Key West are like that.

That is true. Once you are in Key West it is best to get a bike, scooter, or walk - parking is scarce. But if you want to experience the whole Keys you need transportation.

I spent 20 years in the Keys without a car. Worked out fine. In fact, it worked out better than the 10 years I had a car.

The big-picture problem is that people refuse to get so much as a smidge out of their comfort zone and try something different. I took the Keys shuttle to the airport when I didn't just fly in and out of EYW (which I prefer because it's the world's easiest airport). The view is just as pretty -- and you get to enjoy it without worrying about driving.

There's only one road. So this is an easy problem to solve.

We stayed in Key West this past January 2023 for a week. We needed a car to get there but after that we used the car only a couple of times, primarily to get to the Publix grocery store.
Parking space was $25/day
