If the layout I clicked for my booking shows a lanai should I get one with it then do you think? Or will it be by request only?
The layout you are shown has no relevance and only shows you what might be available, only what is contained in the confirmation email matters.

In general, most people put “high floor” in their pre-arrival email request and the odds of getting into Wai’ale’ale on the 2nd or 3rd floor are good (there are many owners who prefer the ‘walk out’ nature of the 1st floor villas).

But if you absolutely, positively need a lanai instead of a juliette balcony to enjoy your vacation then you should try to change to a parlor (or put in a waitlist request).

Does anyone know what will happen to our timeshares when/not if, the Kauai Beach Villas resort goes under?

Are you referring to Marriott Kauai Beach Club?
Or a resort called Kauai Beach Villas?

Question regarding KBC. Is there a big difference between getting Ocean View versus Ocean Front? It's quite a difference in points. Thanks.
Already stated but you have to get a room high up in the Ocean View to get a good view, you can see how busy the pool is which is a plus or look down to see if anyone is using the grills so there are advantages to OV but you can get a roof view if you are too low. The OF is a great view in every room I am told. Have stayed in both and would go with OF if we go back again. We just stayed OF in the Kilohana tower and loved our rooms.

Does anyone have or know location of a map or diagram that shows which buildings/floors are Marriott Kauai Beach Club and which are Kauai Beach Villas? Possibly something handed out by the resort(s)?

Perhaps you mean which sections/villas are Marriott Vacation Club Kaua'i Beach Club and which are part of the The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue?

The Ha'upu tower is all hotel rooms. The Kahili tower is mostly hotel rooms with MVCI on 2 or 3 floors only. The Kilohana and Wai'ale'ale towers are all MVC Oceanfront villas and Nounou is all non-OF MVC villas.
