Arrived on Thursday to beautiful weather, but the rains moved in on Saturday evening. Thunderstorms all last night and it is still raining all over the island.:(

There were some land slides around Lumahai and road closures all over. The parking lot at Po'ipu Beach was still underwater from the storms last week, it ought to be really something now. Apparently some sections of the Koloa Bypass road are closed. If the rain lets up we will take a walk and see what is going on. I can't imagine that part of the road before you get to Brenneke's is flooded as well.

Emailed some friends in Princeville, but haven't heard from them yet.

One of the concierge staff leaves on the east side and she left at 0530. Got to P@P about 7:30!

This is remindful of the 2006 Forty Days and Forty Nights of rain. The forecast is for rain all week, but you never really know. If the Trades pick up they will blow it all out of here. We can only hope.

We will no doubt get a lot of reading done today and maybe some shopping. At some point we will probably make it to the Poolside Bar, but we do this only on the rarest of occasions.;)

I wouldn't want to be in Hanalai with a plane to catch today!

If we get down to Po'ipu I will post a few pics.

Cheers,

Paul

If it's raining, we go south, all the way to the end of the road - literally - Polihale Beach.

But, if it's raining when you get to the dirt road - don't go on.

We just got back on Thursday. Had a huge rain on Sunday and they called for
Rain everyday afterward for the whole week. We only ended up having the
Typical Hawaii rain. Rains a little and then the sun comes out. Some days it didn't even rain at all. So, it still may end out well.

The waterfalls will really be flowing.:D
