Hi all, I just received an email that the property I had made an offer on has passed ROFR and the closing company is in receipt of both the estoppel and waiver from HGVC. Just waiting on the documents to be prepared and closing to be conducted.
Here is the details on my purchase:
HGVC on the Blvd - 2 BR 5000 points Gold Week
I know I should probably have bought within driving distance (I'm in NY) - but I figure the Vegas club has some of the lower costs. I don't plan on using it in Vegas often (if at all), but rather transfer it and stay at some 1 BR resorts in SC, FL, CA, etc. Although I wanted a 1BR, this 2 BR unit gives me enough points for a 1BR in all seasons. (again, I know a 1BR would have given me lower MFs, but I thought this was a good deal - and the annual cost isn't too astronomical.
I have a reduced point usage for 2018 (I guess the owner borrowed against them), and only have 3800 points available for 2018. I actually am planning a family train trip to New Orleans, and will probably look to trade for an RCI resort there for 2018. Since I am brand new, I'll probably be looking to you guys for help to do that.
Anyway, both me and my wife are psyched for this. We went on a sales pitch tour in June, and loved the resorts. The 1BR set up, with the full kitchen is great, it felt like we were on vacation but we also had all the convinces of home - full kitchen, washer/dryer, etc. Was just a great experience. I did enough reading in the years prior (always wanted a time share) of the TUG boards to know never buy at the sales pitch, so I contacted Jodi Kos right after our presentation and her staff was very helpful getting us this unit. Anyway, glad to be joining you guys shortly.
