I just go back from almost a week at HGVC Sea World. We spent six nights, with five full days at the parks. Our schedule, starting on a Monday:

Epcot (9a - 9p)
Magic Kingdom (8a - 11p)
Islands of Adventure (9a? - 2p) and Universal Studios (2p - 6p)
Sea World (9a - 6p)
Disney's Hollywood Studios (9a - 10:30 p)

Magic Kingdom was fantastic during our 15 hours. I counted up 36 attractions that we visited, including repeat rides and major nighttime shows.

The condo was nearly perfect, and I don't have any major complaints. I'm going to get a review written in the next week or two, but in the meantime feel free to ask any questions.

That's the resort I am thinking of staying in for a Harry Potter visit. Do you think it is the closest HGVC to Universal studios?

Is there much to do around the resort? I'm thinking my husband and I won't want to spend as much time at the parks as the young adults will.

HGVC Sea World is one of our favorite Orlando resorts. Nice rooms, great pool area, and a nice playground area for the little kids. It's just a bit of a hike to Disney, but fairly close to Universal. It's on our rotation, since they have a 1 in 4 rule. The resort on I-Drive is nice, too.

I think that if you map the three HGVCs, they are about equal distance to Universal. If you are only going to Universal for one or two days, I wouldn't worry much about which of the three is closest. HGVC Sea World is very well located for freeway access, although you should be aware that you can not exit southbound I-4 at Central Florida Parkway when returning from Universal. We took Turkey Lake Road all the way to Universal Resort, and then took Universal Blvd most of the way home.

I can't say much about what goes on at the resort during the day, since we were gone all afternoon. I walked to the main building in the early evening once, and the pools and jacuzzi were busy, along with the restaurant.

Just outside of the resort is a 7-11, a CVS, and Bonefish Grill restaurant. The only other walkable location (besides Sea World and Discovery Cove) is the Renaissance Hotel. They have a Starbucks, restaurants, bars, etc.

Yes, it's the closest. Although Parc Soleil would have less traffic.

The best way from Seaworld to Universal simply a straight shot up I-Drive with a jog over to Universal Blvd via Point Plaza Avenue... or just go to the end of I-Drive where it runs into Universal Blvd.
