51,700 is Westin or Sheraton flex- not abound. The value is basically zero so you over paid by about $19,000!

Rescind ASAP! Then spend sometime learning the various programs and the pluses and minuses of each. Then once you understand you can make an informed buying decision instead of a high pressure sales one full of lies and half truths!! And if you decide you want to be an owner after you spend sometime time learning save yourself thousands and thousands by buying resale instead!!

RESCIND!
Letter is going out certified mail on Monday. Already saw higher packages on here for 100 bucks. Guessing people just want out and basically give them away instead of paying the annual fees forever. Thanks for your input!

You can find these for less than closing costs. In other words, people will pay you to take them. That should give you an idea of its “value.”

Higher package?

Read the pink section at the top on the Abound program before you buy even resale points to understand how many points you would need, how long you have before expiration, booking windows, etc.

Even resale points at $6 each may not be right.
A resale week to exchange on II (only) may work better.

Rescind now. You need to slow down on this impulsive and uninformed buy. There are other ways to achieve your ownership goals at a much lower cost - you need time to consider these.

Please note that the deal will not go away and can always be reinstated. However, the more likely outcome will be that with some due diligence you will save thousands of dollars by making a more informed deal.

Another thought - why not ask this forum how to structure a deal that would yield what you want at a lower price. Your investment would be to just lay out precisely what you were offered or want. Buying some high value resale properties should also be considered.

Yes, I saw quite a few of the exact points package I bought plus many with even higher points (they paid much more) and all selling here for 100 bucks or less. Made me fully understand how worthless the points truly are. This place is an awesome resource and again I thank you all!

The problem with Sheraton Flex, Westin Flex or Westin Aventuras resale is they are not Abound eligible. They are also only elligble to reserve within their home group of resorts. You can't use them to directly reserve Marriott Vacation Club properties. They can be used to exchange through Interval International to MVC for additional fees. I see this is in the Marriott forum. Questions related to these Flex products are best answered in the Vistana forum on TUG. Too much information for one post probably. You need to understand mandatory vs voluntary. What are HomeOptions and what are StarOptions and what makes them different. So don't just go out and buy those ones for $100 unless you fully understand what you are getting in to.

Well that's another lie they told us. They clearly said the flex points convert directly into abound points and had a conversion chart and all. Never mentioned any additional fees unless booking overseas. Thank you for the additional info. I think I'm going to become a member here and really educate myself on these systems etc. Seems you can make it a good deal if you know what you want and you buy resale. Thanks again.

To be clear, Flex points bought directly from Marriott will convert into Abound points; Flex points purchased resale do not. That's what @dioxide45 was warning you about in post #31.

That said, if you really, really want Abound points, you can buy them on the resale market with full rights for a fraction of what you paid.

Full disclosure: I wouldn't own Abound points even if I could acquire them for free; the maintenance fees are too high and one needs many, many Abound points (3-5x the package you were sold) to reserve prime units.
