So I booked a 4 bedroom presidential MONTHS ago. Have my confirmation which I have checked a few times. When I went to check in the person said so you have a 2 bedroom. I said NO! Told him what I had and then he asked me if it could be under another name. I said only my husbands.he had to call the manager to see what he could do and in the mean time I showed him my confirmation. Then he said the manager got us a room in the Sabal building. 4 bedroom SUPPOSEDLY a presidential but I fail to see anything presidential about it! Yuck!!!

Oh dear. I can understand your disappointment. If you do decide to stay, there is so much to see and do in that area…water taxi, Hollywood beach, sawgrass mall, but don’t Go to the casino across the street.

Sounds to me like they fixed this for you.

The only 4 bedroom units they have at Palm Aire are 4BR Presidentials. No 4BR Deluxe. And they are only in Fountain Palm and Sabal Palm and if I remember right on the very top floors of each tower.

What wasn't "up to presidential standards"? I've not stayed in the Presidential units there, but have stayed in a 2BR Deluxe in Areca Palms and it was nice.

We stayed in Palm Aire once to try it out and decided it had more "retro charm" than what we appreciate. So we wouldn't stay there again but for others I think they do appreicate Palm Aire more than us.

Is this your first time staying at Palm Aire? A wise man on TUGBBS (Greg T) once "warned" me to be careful in setting our families expectations with respect to Worldmark's. It's not a Marriott, but Worldmark is unique, and shouldn't set expectations higher than what's realistic for Worldmark.

Ugh that sounds so frustrating! Hotel booking mistakes are the worst. At least they were able to find you an acceptable 4br alternative in the end. Fingers crossed the Sabal room grows on you and you're able to relax and enjoy your stay. Safe travels!

Do you suggest going to the beach at the Royal Vista resort? What is good about the water taxi and how do we get it from here? Thx in advance for the help! Also what’s wrong with the casino?

We have stayed here before Two times before a cruise. The first time we had a 2 bedroom deluxe. Not that it matters but we are platinum owners. They put us in the Ocean Palms. (I think that’s what the call the units that are a two story building away from the main buildings). The furniture was okay but the carpeting was stained, torn, pulling apart from the doorways, the toilets had black markings in the basin bottoms, the refrigerator water filter of course was showing it needed to be replaced, the coffee maker was FULL of dust inside and out,…I could go on and on). Just to let you know I am not an extremely picky or a person that has high expectations but I am one that feels like a business should deliver on their promises. Last year we stayed in a 2 bedroom presidential (I made SURE to book a presidential) and it was great with the exception of the water filter in the refrigerator. Does Wyndham EVER change them? The furniture on the deck was nice padded chairs, some high back and we faced the Areca Palms building. Had great sun in the morning and loved our views. This current room has a chipping painted deck with old chairs, tiled floors ALL the cabinets, bedroom furniture, is scratched all over the place, windows are old, some electrical outlets are unusable because they are so loose, etc,. I did call and have the refrigerator water filter changed but after 2 attempts to bring the right one and he couldn’t get it in I offered to do it for him which he gladly let me. I doubt they change them unless someone calls. Just coming into the Sabal building you could feel it had been a building that must have been one of the oldest and one they aren’t investing a lot to update. Other than that we sat and listened to the singer in the breezeway and relaxed and had an enjoyable evening!

I am sorry the unit was in bad shape. That doesn't sound like a "presidential" experience.

To the OP, I can feel your disappointment.

There's a casino there? (I've only stayed at the beach resorts in Pompano)

The best part here are the great guests! Perhaps I was put in this building to get it up to code! both elevators in the Sabal building the certificate of operation from Broward County expired over 6 months ago! these are posted in both elevators. It states on these under “Important notice: The certificate of Elevator Operation is valid for a period of one year unless suspended or revoked..then it talks about how these have to be posted in the elevator. The last inspection of these elevators was 05/17/2022. Hopefully they are better at inspecting these than the refrigerator water filters LOL. Hopefully they just never took the time to update the papers in the elevators. Guess I will see later! Wish me luck! Lol!!!
