I've been watching the Weather Channel since its inception. I knew Mike Seidel when he was a weekend weatherman in Greenville, SC in late 80's. The last time I saw him at the gym, he informed me that he was taking a job at a cable station that only covered weather 'Weather Channel'. Since then, he and Jim Cantore have been in the middle of every major weather event over the past 30+ years. My brothers and I used to joke that the worst thing that could happen on a vacation was to have one of them on your flight. I wonder where they go for vacation.
Mike Seidel was recently 'downsized' by WC, but I've noticed he is now at the center of storms for another network. The video below was taken during Ian and illustrates their bravery/craziness. I'd like to thank them for their years of service and hope they continue to stay safe along with everyone in the storm's path.

Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore struck by tree live on air during Hurricane Ian
Cantore was reporting live from an intersection in Punta Gorda, Florida Wednesday when he was nearly taken out by a tree branch as the Category 4 storm bore down on the state’s west coast.
