We are home now from our vacation. Among other things, we spent two nights--one day--in Sedona. Since DH was bitter about missing his annual Moab adventure, we rented a Rubicon from Farabee's and did some wheeling around Sedona. We drove (he drove, I rode shotgun) Soldier Pass, Schnebly Hill Road (including the Volcanic Rim Loop) and Broken Arrow. All are short and simple drives compared to the trails in Moab but what they lacked in challenge they made up in beauty. The weather was perfect. We took the top down so as to get better views. DH wished he had his own jeep but did like the air conditioning in the Rubicon. He said he could get used to that. ;)

We ate at Cucina Rustica in the Village at Oak Creek near the Hilton Resort. It was fabulous! It is an Italian restaurant and I had the portabello mushroom relleno--no relation to the usual Mexican chili relleno. It tasted like heaven melting in my mouth! We ate outdoors. The weather was just right. A guitarist was sitting close to our table playing softly. All in all, a perfect evening.
