Hello. We are planning a trip to WDW for Jan. 2009. We have been to WDW several times, but never in Jan. We either want to go jan 3 to Jan 10 or Jan 10 to Jan 17. After reading other posts, my concern with my first set of dates is the WDW marathon. My second choice runs into MLK weekend. Which week should have lighter crowds?

Thank you.

I've been during that early January period a couple times and you should have a great time. You may even still see Christmas decorations on Jan 3.

I would not worry about the marathon much. Sure, people go there for it, but Disney schedules it at that time because it is otherwise a slow period.

I think MLK weekend has a stronger local attendance due to the holiday period.

I say go the earlier period, I am using this same line of thought for scheduling my own trip in January 2010.

Enjoy your trip!
