There is a Woot Off going on right now. How many of you are watching?

I just logged on to Woot before getting on TUG and I noticed the flashing lights. I thought it might be a Woot-off.

Thanks a lot Fern. You just cost me $62!

I didn't buy a woot, but I got hooked by their "side deal" of a 5.6" digital photo frame for $19. That took me to eCost, where I added a "free" 4 GB SDHC card. Of course, I had to pay $12 up front, but there's a rebate. Then I added a 4 GB USB drive, because my old 1 GB one is full of stuff I don't need, so of course I need a bigger one. Then there's shipping, tax, and CA recycling fee (what the heck?).

I have a real love-hate relationship with online buying :hysterical:

Fern, I'm watching. I'm running Windows Vista, and have Woot as a Gadget on the desktop Sidebar. So whenever I turn on my computer, I see the current Woot. It's always a surprise when I see a Woot-Off going on, and I pay close attention. Haven't bought anything yet today, but we'll see what turns up!

I LOVE these things! So far just one purchase, though (this time)

Actually very smart for Woot

They get a real bump in hits because we are all checking and refreshing lots of times per day instead of just once, and they can unload a bunch of stuff that did not sell out.

Very very smart use of their internet model.
