Island Air Shuts Down

P.S. we flew Island Air two years ago. They were very strict about carry-on weight and types of carry on which added to our family's cost significantly. Hawaiian (and SWA) are not so restrictive. This may have contributed to their demise.

Good thing I saw this. We were scheduled to fly from HNL to OGG on 11/26. Now I have to scramble.

So this didn't go well. Island Air's website states "For inquiries on refunds, please contact your credit card company." We contacted Chase and they said they won't open up a chargeback past 118 days and I booked this back in January. Good thing I saw this thread anyway, though. I didn't get any notification from Island Air. I would have gone to check in and been in a real mess.

Hawaiian Air is working to accommodate everyone impacted by the shut down, but only for a limited time. I believe it's free, but if you miss the cut off they are offering a super discounted option for $71 I think. Either way you have to act fast. Go to their website or a Facebook page for more info.
