Is Wyndham "stealing" inventory?

I tried the cancel rebook thing with 2 reservations (about 2 weeks apart) at the Elysian last Oct. Had a Vacation specialist do it for me. Both specialists lost the booking. I did have a back up or I wouldn't have tried it. I was able to book those dates as bonus time reservations through WM. About 2 weeks later, 4 of the 7 days I tried to cancel and rebook showed back up.
