HVC: The Point at Poipu, 3 deeded weeks, 1 is in The Club.
I had booked hotels in Waikiki and Kona pretty far in advance for our trip next month. I just checked the rates again, and was able to rebook at significantly lower prices. Is tourism off this year?
 
I don't think so - I just think you are seeing typical last minute discounts.
 
Dollar is pretty strong right now. Could be part of it.

Hawaii IS a state? Or are you referring to the fact that Asia isn't coming over?
 
keep in mind, that the CDN is down (compared to the USD) almost 20% in the last 18mo.
this reduction, hurts. That $1 item is costing me almost $1.20 with the exchange.
That won't be the cause of possible reduction, but it doesn't help

Now you know how it's been for us when we travel north in recent years. Visiting Whistler was previously quite reasonable! In other words, it goes both ways...
