I got this call, and they left the following message:
Hi this message is for Mr. And Mrs. Haley. This is Julie calling regarding the Sheraton in your interval account. Please return my call as soon as possible. my number is [scammer number deleted so not to give them free advertising] andagain, this is Julie. Thank you, and have a great day.
Scam - If you google the number you will find scam reports all over the place. This is an "upfront fee" company - they want to charge you big bucks to rent your II exchanges and Getaways. BUT - II doesn't permit you to rent them.
an almost universal red flag in this industry is a cold call...
it is so nearly unheard of for a legitimate company to make a cold call solicitation regarding your timeshare...you likely wont miss a thing if you just assume they are all scams!
literally the only ones we've ever heard of that ARENT scams, are solicitations for discounted vacations/sales presentations =)
Also consider that your ownership is public record. Your deed with your name is recorded with the county. There are companies out there that sell timeshare ownership information. I would think TUG gets lots of unsolicited offers of mailing and calling lists of timeshare owners? There are also companies that will do the work of obtaining phone numbers and addresses based of a list of names. They can get your number from many possible sources.
