Is there any reservation-making advantages to owning multiple weeks under Vistana?

You don't own a week, you own Flex...
In fairness they do own a few weeks. It’s just that the reservation options they were viewing were coming from the Flex account, not their WDW week, which uses seasons.

There are some resorts in the system they let you book into a lower season (Cascades phase at SVR is one). It’s usually a bad value as you can book a longer period via SO.

the WDW example (booking in to any season at 12mos) and screenshot are definitely Flex. a weeks ownership at WDW cant do what was described.

of course they could also own weeks, but that isn't what was described/shown.

SVR is an abnormal example because they have an internal blended redemption which let's them book outside their owned season, as well as the mini Club, etc.

Wrong. I own a week, and I also own Flex. The Flex is more recent.

depending on which ownership is used, you are going to see different availability at WDW

I don’t think that’s true. I’ve booked during other periods before, I think, during the 12 month ownership reservation period. If what you’re saying was true, then I was completely lied to on multiple occasions. (Of course, I wouldn’t be the first person to have been lied to by a timeshare sales rep.). I’m under the impression that my ownership entitles me to book at any time of the year. And I’ve owned for a long time, and I’ve always been able to book when I wanted to.

MAYBE I’ve only booked into less expensive weeks at 8 months or less, but I don’t think so. And I was definitely sold with the belief that I could book at any time of year.

Practically speaking, it may not make much difference, since I’ve had little trouble getting weeks when I wanted them.
I think you have been lied to then, unless you own a points plan.

I just tried to book 7 nights at 12 months at my home resort, and my reservation window opens 2/17/21, which is 4 months. Between 12 and 8 months, you can only book at your home resort(s) in the season you own, unless maybe you own a points system.

A side fun fact, well probably not if you own gold, is that the maintenance fees are the same for Gold and Platinum, or whatever.

I own both weeks and points, and I didn’t realize, until the light bulb went on yesterday, that I was able to book the low season at 12 months out only because of the points, not because of the weeks.

That's different from what I was told when I originally bought my week at WDW, but I may well have been misinformed. Anyway I will be there in a week so that will give me something to ask/complain about when I do the owner update.

Sometimes I think they make all of this so complicated just so that some owners will end up confused or unable to use their weeks. I’m a happy owner, but I can understand why some get frustrated. And I’m not sure the developer cares if people walk away once they’ve paid for their week, they just turn around and sell it to someone else.
