Is my own week being used or not?

How come, when I call RCI and talk to their vacation counselor, they tell me they cannot fulfill my request because my Red week has no trading power, that nobody wants it, and that is goes empty, but when I go on the website to search for availability of the same week I have deposited, it doesn't show up?

Something isn't right here. If my own week isn't being taken up and no one wants it, why doesn't it show up as available on the site?

And now come RCI cannot fill my ongoing search, but I find the same weeks I am searching for constantly available at Condos of the World?

Aldo,

If you are being told that your "Red week has no trading power, that nobody wants it, and that it goes empty" I apologize. All weeks have value in RCI's system. Trading Power is based for all weeks on the following criteria:

1) Supply, demand, and usage of your week at your Home Resort
2) Supply, demand, and usage for all weeks in your resort's region
3) Comment Card ratings for your Home Resort
4) Size and configuration of your unit
5) Seasonal designation of your Week
6) How far in advance you deposit your week with RCI

I am not familiar with the CondosOfTheWorld website. I'll see if I can discover any partnership that they may have with RCI. If not, then I imagine that they are offering owner or unsold units.

When RCI does offer prime weeks via Extra Vacations, they represent deposited weeks that were used for non-exchange products such as cruise exchange or Points Partners. These deposits are then used to generate income to offset RCI's expenses in providing the cruises, airfare, etc. RCI carefully guards the exchange inventory that is available to our members who deposited their weeks specifically for exchange.
