Case in point. Last year I bought 646,000 points at the Wyndham Kona Resort for $455 off ebay.

Incredible deal! Was that an annual contract? I bought an 231,000 odd year contract from Kona Hawaiian Resort for $112. While the maintenance fees remained low at $62 per month, it ended up landing with 462,000 points EOY. We can't use all the points, so we're enjoying room upgrades and occasional late checkout, which is really enhancing our vacations.

That Montego Bay on RCI might have a big mandatory all inclusive fee.

Wooow, that’s so dope. Why couldn’t you use all your points?

We have 1 week annually in Sedona AZ, 2 weeks every odd year in Kona (towards a 2 bedroom), and another odd week with Hilton. We stretch some of these points out off season and on weeknights, so we're often getting 50% more time. Given that we do road trips too, and a 2 week cruise every even year, we're maxing our vacation time. Since we're new at this, we already had some vacations booked before coming into ownership, I think the surplus of points to burn on upgrades will instead be used for actual nights moving forward.

Only if you are both listed as signatories on the original timeshare contract that you are rescinding. Follow the rescission instructions to the letter, nothing more nothing less. Don't leave any room for Wyndham to reject the letter - because if they can they likely will.

Good point, looking at the OP, I do see where they stated their wife bought the timeshare. Usually though, the instructions don't go into detail as to who must sign but as indicated, it is anyone party to the contract.

Aaaah okay, I got you. I thought you meant you couldn’t use it cause it wasn’t allowed or something. So all these places you are mentioning you are saying you have different timeshare/points, for each location correct? Like your Hilton week is that with another contract or you use the same points you have for Kona? Etc. I’ll Definitely purchase from resale but I just need to learn more first. By the way, the letter was sent out today. Thank you guys so much.
I’m assuming they will reply back with a letter? Do how long do they take to reply? Thank you.

Yeah we bought our Kona contract early this year, which landed with immediate usage, and we weren't expecting double the points as advertised. A good problem to have! I've only paid less than $400 in fees so far, and already have thousands of dollars in vacation used and booked from it!

My Sedona and Kona contracts are both with Wyndham, and the points combine. The Hilton contract is from a separate company, HGVC. It also exchanges through RCI, so it has access to some of the same properties. Hilton is more expensive, but slightly nicer generally. We own just enough to do Waikiki and Las Vegas, which are in superior locations. Sometimes Wyndham has the better location as well.

All Wyndham points can be used 10 months out at any Wyndham resort, and you get a combined pool to use them (including resale). Did you ever answer what resort you stayed at that you purchased from? I’m curious.

Did you actually purchase deeded points for Daytona - or did you purchase Club Wyndham Access or deeded points from another resort? Curious.

I think it’s Wyndham club access. What’s the difference?
There's two main ownership types, Club Wyndham Select and Club Wyndham Access, along with a few others like Club Wyndham Prefer, Presidential Reserve, and Margaritaville Vacation Club. Here's a screenshot from the Member Directory that outlines the first three ownership types:

I’m guessing you liked the resort? We are back and forth on trying Daytona beach (I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews online), so I was just curious.

Actually no, we booked it through air BnB and our unit was disgusting, The Fridge has major rusts on it. We couldn’t use the oven cause wire strips was showing inside the oven so it would smoke and burn. All saw the owner used pictures from other units. We actually wanted to leave but we had kids with us and they voted to stay. .. the pool area was decent but they had like wierd rules like kids had to be 16 years old to use specific hot tub, etc. the only thing nice about it was the fact that the beach was right there, you just take some stairs down the by the pool area and voila. Maybe I’m biased though, We stayed in Orlando at the Marriot Grande Vista Vista for like 5 days before we went to a Daytona and we loved it there. It was really beautiful and all that. Wyndham just gave us a hotel vibe with a big pool lmao. The whole reason my wife got the timeshare was mainly to use rci though. The idea to vacation for less than $400 for a week enticed her.. that was our experience though hope it helps.

Thanks, those are the kinds of reviews that I had read that kept us from booking. We normally stay in Orlando at Wyndham Bonnet Creek (which is great).

If you are used to Marriott, and are still interested in timeshare and RCI deals, I could consider Hilton Grand Vacation Club. They are closer to Marriott in standards, without Marriott's high maintenance fees. Wyndham also owns Worldmark, which can be traded for Marriott through Interval. IMO Club Wyndham, Worldmark, and HGVC are the only ways to do this where you are coming out easily ahead.

If you're going to compare the RCI resorts to Marriott - nine times out of ten you're going to be disappointed. Outside of a few boutique timeshare resort companies and the Ritz-Carlton/Four Seasons brands, Marriott likely has the best timeshare resorts out there when it comes to quality and service. That's why Marriott generally has higher MFs than most other timeshare companies at the same time - at least from what I've heard/read. Just saying that I hope you're not expecting to enjoy the same resort quality using RCI weeks as what your wife experienced at the Marriott Grand Vista resort - because that's going to be a recipe for disappointment if that's the case. Remember, you always get what you pay for at the end of the day.

Actually a friend booked it for us through her time share, I don’t know which time share she has though. She always gifts it to people cause she doesn’t use it. She travels a lot like on the spot so she can’t find what she wants there and then.

"Suadali03" posted that their rental was through Air BnB. That suggests that the unit was one of the privately owned condos at Daytona Beach. There are two towers or sections of the Ocean Walk building, and one of them is Wyndham units and the other is private owners. I would be shocked if I ever checked into a Wyndham unit there and found it as described. I've stayed at Ocean Walk numerous times (I think it was my first use after I first bought points) and I've always found it clean and up to Wyndham standards.
