Is it worth it to save expiring points?

Is it worth it to save 3500 HGVC points (expiring 12/31/24) for $239 and 5440 RCI points ($164) or do the fees to save them outweigh their value?

Or Is it better to deposit the 3500 HGVC into RCI for $164 and extend the current 5440 RCI points for $164 so I'd end up paying $328 total and have all 8900 RCI points?

I'm so confused.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I would save the HGVC points and make a 2025 reservation with them, stop procrastinating! :)

Are you sure the RCI deposit is expiring, they last 2 years. Start an Ongoing Search (OGS) in RCI now! It's free in the HGVC portal, just check availability in a resort you want and if nothing is available it will ask if you want to start an OGS.

If you are sure you will use RCI then dump them in there and extend the expiration date.

I saved pretty much the same amount of points, I did it earlier in the year and I think I saved a few bucks, others can comment on that. But for me it was a no-brainer and put them back into my HGVC account.

For 3500pts I'd probably save them for next year. IDK what size unit you stay in, but that's half of a 2BR in the off season at some locations, or can at least get you another 2 nights I think. Here's where planning ahead can help, it's cheaper to save earlier in the year, I think it was $129.
