Is it possible to set up automatic deposit of my PIC weeks into RCI?

Background:
I acquired 2 PIC weeks in Twin Rivers at Fraser Colorado back in July 2018. Last year I managed to deposit my 2019 and 2020 reservations into RCI and then called Wyndham to convert them into points. I don't clearly remember the steps I followed since the process seemed cumbersome and murky!
My 2020 statement from Twin Rivers came this month and I have paid my 1st half of 2020 dues. I notice they have posted my 2021 reservations with a status of PENDING. (My 2019 and 2020 reservations show a status of BANKING). Twin Rivers Customer disService person told me I have to call RCI every year. And RCI will then contact Twin Rivers and Twin Rivers will approve etc. etc.
I am sure all of this is too much for my wife and sons after I am gone. I could set up an automatic payment through Bill Pay. But the rest of the steps are failure-prone! I plan to document the steps for them. But I remember something about automatic deposits of these weeks into RCI.

Does anyone know how to deposit these weeks automatically every year into RCI?

Is there an automatic way to pic these RCI weeks and convert them into Wyndham points?

Are these 2 weeks (Trading power 25 and 19) worth more in RCI exchange than 508,000 points from Wyndham?

No, there is not an automatic process. The deposit is similar to what you remember... first you deposit them into RCI, and after RCI confirms the deposited week with the resort, then you call Wyndham and assign that deposit to them and they give you the points. All steps in that process are manual.

I decided to chat with RCI oinstead of calling. What a nightmare! I cut and pasted the info from Twin Rivers. Still mixed up the room numbers. And she is saying my Feb week is owned by somebody else.

If you can get the first part automated you're probably as well off as you would want to be. That is a resort dependent issue; not all will automatically do the deposits for you. As for converting to Wyndham points via PIC, there are two obstacles that would probably prevent you from automating it; first the payment of the PIC fee, which wouldn't be insurmountable and should be an easy one to set up, but the second one is the decision of whether to put the resulting points in the current use year or in the future use year. You are allowed that choice with each week you PIC into Wyndham and it is fairly nice having the option to facilitate your planning; there may be some occasions when you would either want to delay having the points until a future year because you have already booked enough travel for the current one or where you might want to accelerate the points from a future TS year week to a current year in order to rent them out.

One of the sales folks indicated to me that the process could be automated, but I got no response when I asked owner care about it. It is possible that you might be able to get it done and I'd be interested to know if you make any progress on it, but upon further reflection I believe I prefer to have the flexibility to decide what years the points should go in.

I deposited my two 2019 weeks in 2019 and when I was given the option for 2020, I put one week in 2019 and one in 2020. Good thing, since I am all out on 2019 points and bonus ending 2020 started borrowing from 2020!

What weeks do you own? I think you also have to deposit it into RCI at least 9 months in advance of check in. In all likelihood you will have to prepay your MF even if that means paying before they would normally be due.

The Trading Power listed for your week is the current Trading Power you will receive when you deposit today. It is possible that the Deposit Trading Power may go down due to supply and demand.


If the Deposit Trading Power of your week goes up, your deposit will be adjusted to reflect the change.


Remember, you're depositing a 2021 week. The trading power may adjust since the deposit is being made more than 12 months ahead of the check in date.

You are an excellent example of why I need a good kick in the behind to get busy getting all our timeshare stuff organized into a binder for my husband and son in case anything ever happens to me!

It's my fault not theirs that my husband and son don't know more than they do about our timeshares. I set up their user names and passwords but have never even told them what they are. The next time I'm up North staying with our son and his family for a few days I will make sure it is when he has his days off so we can sit down at the computer together to look at the website. He's never even seen the new website and it came out in May 2017.

The timing of depositing PICs can be tricky because you have to deposit so early.

I have a May week and a floating week elsewhere which both deposit differently. I was taking the points when I deposited them but I'm going to have the points deposit in the use year that weeks are covering.

But you had better believe that every time I pay a MF bill for a PIC I will be sending in that verification to Wyndham.

At least back before timeshares, my other half could safely ignore all of my hotel and airline points games - but now there are ongoing costs associated with the games I play. I need to make sure he knows how to keep the plates spinning, or at least how to dispose of our ownerships easily.

It used to drive my husband crazy with how much "hoop jumping" I did getting the best deals with flights, rental cars, discounted point stays and deals on things to do for our trips. Last night I realized just how much things have changed in the last few months. From July 18 to December 19 we will have been at home a total of 26 nights. My husband has fully embraced staying so much at our timeshares and is now taking a lot of interest in how I plan and do things. If something happened to me he wouldn't want to give up going like we have been!

Earlier this week I found a 5 night discounted point stay with an upgrade on the unit size in St. Thomas for dates that we could use frequent flier miles for the flights with a $30.12 copay apiece for our round trip flights. Last night I told my husband we needed to make a decision, that it is hardly worth going for just 5 nights and we had more options if he really wanted to go. He does. So he sat next to me and I opened the airline website for the flights and the Wyndham website. He sat patiently, watched and listened while I explored the options, costed them out and booked our stays and flights.

I was able to get 2 more nights in the same size unit and 2 more after that in a smaller unit that doesn't have an upgrade at this time. If we stayed 7 nights in the same size unit we would have to pay for the flights back instead of using miles. If we stayed 9 nights the last two nights might not get upgraded to the same size unit so we would have to move. We really don't like having to move units if we can avoid it. However the cost of the maintenance fees on the extra two nights to stay 9 nights plus the $25 per night tax to be able to use the miles for the flight home came out to the same price as staying 7 nights and paying more for the flights back. So duh we are staying 9 nights and I will keep looking for an upgrade on the last two nights or hopefully get an automatic upgrade.
