Is Grand Chateau good for kids?

Hello! We are MVC owners and Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium, and need to be in Vegas for a conference in October. Is the MVC Grand Chateau good for kids? I mean, I’m looking for a nice pool to relax at where there isn’t a bunch of Vegas partying going on. I see it has two pools…is one of them more relaxed? We just want to take some dips in the pool to cool off while reading by the pool without a bunch of partiers around.

I also see on the Marriott site that Marriott now has many Vegas hotels, including all of the MGMs. Anyone know about pools at those places?

A few years ago we stayed at the Venetian, and they had a lovely quiet pool on the 11th floor…it was perfect for what we were wanting…a security guard told me about it when I was trying to find the pools with my son. 😊 I couldn’t thank him enough. It was just what we were looking for!

Thanks for any info you can pass my way!

Both of the Grand Chateau pools are kid friendly and neither have "Vegas partying" - though my experience has been that younger kids usually hang out at the one on the lower floors. They also close surprisingly early in the late afternoon/early evening.

Thanks so much! That all is so good to know. I will have to look at the pool opening and closing times. It’s such a bummer when opening hours are late and closing are early. But glad to hear there won’t be the partying.

We spent spring break at MGC with my 12 and 7 year olds. We had a great time. Kids have already asked to go back! The pools were both open till like 10 or 11PM every night, the pool bars do close early though. Like 11-5 everyday or so.

No partying that we saw. On the weekend there was a bachelor party group at the pool drinking but nothing wild by any means. And others just sipping on drinks mostly.

The pools at the Grand Chateau are a bit meh. I would think kids would prefer the Mandalay Bay pools.

Wow! When I was there in April a few years ago the pools closed around 6PM.

Grand Chateau is nothing special in a sea of Vegas hotels and I would characterize it as a hotel rather than a resort property. Some of us do like the smoke free environment and lack of casinos on the property. We have owned there since about 2008 and use it only for exchanges now.

Having said this, I'm hoping someone will offer some praise for this property as a resort destination.

We love Grand Chateau. It's right across LV Boulevard from the Cosmo and Aria (which are our favorite LV resorts) so we get to go have fun and then walk 'home' and enjoy a great villa in a smoke-free, casino-free, hassle-free environment. And while the pools are not exciting in any way, they are great for hanging out and relaxing.

That said, if you are looking for a "resort destination" as in a never-leave-the-property kind of place, Grand Chateau isn't it. But then again, we've come to accept that if you want the kind of experience where the resort and location are magical and you feel pampered and well cared for it just isn't going to happen in LV.

@Lakeshore , I have stayed at the Grand Chateau several times. It is nice for adults. It has a children's activity room. Plus it is across the street from the Miracle Mile shopping center.

I didn't catch the ages of your kids. But if they are younger, they may enjoy Tahiti Village more than the Marriott. It isn't the same high quality but it is nice and they have a nice zero edge pool and a lazy river. It is about 2 miles south of the heart of the strip on Las Vegas Blvd.

We liked Grand Chateau because it is safe, in a good location, smoke free with do drunks or shady elements roaming the resorts . IMHO
I guess your stays haven't overlapped with our family.... 😊. No I get where you are coming from and agree.

I have been to Vegas almost a hundred times. We like Grand Chateau for the reasons above: it is a respite from real Vegas. That being said, I do not think Vegas in general is a good place to bring kids, and never brought my young children there.

Agree with this. Shady place.

I would choose Marriott's Newport Coast any day over Grand Chateau for kids.

Sin City is the ideal nickname for Vegas, and it's not gotten better, no matter what you hear. We go but generally stay at Wyndham's Grand Desert, another great hotel that is smoke free and away from everything.

I agree about NCV! Lol! If only my husband had work there instead of Vegas. This trip is just for a couple of nights, and my kids aren’t little anymore. Just wanting a nice, quiet place to read by the pool without the typical Vegas partying going on, then have a great meal somewhere for dinner. We have never stayed at the vacation club there, so I thought I’d ask. Sounds like many people have had a nice time there. Thanks for everyone’s replies.
We could go to the JW in Summerlin….we have been there many times when our kids were little in October my husband had work in Vegas and it was was great….we were the only ones at the pool most of the time.
I was just thinking maybe getting a 2 bedroom would be better for this two night stay.

If the kids are going along then the GC is a great option.
