Hello!

I recently signed up with the TUG BBS and wanted to introduce myself. We've owned Disney Vacation Club since 2003 and recently purchased a Wyndham resale. We are patiently waiting for the membership to be transferred.

We enjoy traveling and are looking forward to using the Wyndham product and believe it will compliment our DVC ownership.

TUG is a great resource and I've been lurking, reading and searching for the right purchase and found it right here on the TUG sale listings. Thanks for providing so much great information!

Doug

Welcome, Doug! We're DVC members, too, and purchased resale Wyndham points within the last year. Wyndham points are working out great for us. We especially like the online booking capability and discount on points within 60 days of check-in (since we tend to travel off season). :)

Welcome Doug, after you understand the workings of wyndham you will find it is a nice compliment to your DVC.
Happy Travels,
Laurie

Welcome, good choice with the wyndham points to supplement your rci account. Just so you know how long to expect it to get in your name.

it really depends on where your resort is located. first your deed must be recorded a the county courthouse. The list below may give you an idea as to when to expect your deed.

CO, TX, AL, SC, FL - 3 to 5 weeks

NC, AZ, UT, WI, VA - 4 - 6 weeks

NY, VT, NJ, PA, RI - 5-8 weeks

CA, MA, NV, HI - 6-10 weeks

Maryland, Washington - 10 - 18 weeks

after your deed is recorded a copy will be sent to wyndham, and the original to you. it then takes about 2 weeks for Wyndham TOA to verify the accuracy of the deed, and then another 2 weeks for title services to put it into your name. a little trick is you can ask title services to expedite your transfer, you may get lucky.

THEN, once everything is in your name you may have to request a new RCI number/account, as your old one will belong to the old owner. DO NOT MAKE ANY DEPOSITS until you verify that the RCI number paired up with your account is in your name. Once the request is put in from wyndham to rci to set you up a free RCI account, it takes 7-10 business days to receive your new RCI number.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes! We are looking forward to using our Wyndham TS.

siesta, thanks for the timeline. Our deed was recorded on August 5th. Wyndham confirmed that they received the documents on August 20th. So, I'm on my way. I appreciate the tip on calling title services. I'll try that in a week or so.

Thanks again everyone!!

Doug7856,

Since Wyndham has acknowledged receipt of your documents you should have your points before October 1st and maybe as soon as September 20th unless the documents have to be returned due to an error in processing.

If you already have an RCI account you can specifically request that Wyndham use that account number as opposed to setting up a new unique account.

We all look forward to your updates and your opinion of Wyndham when you start using your points.

Thanks for your insight.

On Friday, I did a conference call with Wyndham and the previous owner to set up a payment plan for the monthly dues -- the outcome was that the original owner will continue paying the dues and I'll reimburse him until the transfer is complete. During that conversation he brought up his RCI account and our call was transferred to RCI. The service rep instructed us to fax a letter and copy of the deed and request that the RCI account transfer to us. The letter was faxed with signatures from the previous owners and us. I'm hoping this was a good thing that will expedite the RCI account transfer to us. My guess is that if this is completed before the Wyndham transfer, that I will then provide this member/account number. The previous owner had banked weeks that the RCI rep said would be transferred to us. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Checked in with Wyndham to see if there has been any progress. None. The person I spoke to said it would take at least eight weeks. It has been four weeks since Wyndham acknowledged receiving the documents.

Welcome to TUBBBS. We have had a good experience exchanging in to Wyndham and Worldmark properties. I am sure you will enjoy your Wyndham membership. If you become a TUG member, you will be able to visit the TUG Reviews. I think the TUG reviews are an excellent source of information and I use them before exchanging.
