Happy Holidays everyone!

This question has probably been posed before but I thought I would ask again.

I have only been with Interval and haven't had problems but am wondering if I should try RCI this year.

I mostly trade internationally and have 2 @ Sheraton Desert Oasis.

Thoughts?

Thanks

For the most part the inventory available in II is of better quality than RCI with the exception of Disney and Hilton, imo. And the exchange fees are higher in RCI. Best scenario for you is to use the discounted exchange fee for Vistana in II and put in an ongoing search for another Vistana property. Alternatively, exchange into a Vistana property and use eplus to do an instant exchange into another property. Where are you trying to go?

One more point: In RCI you do not have the Vistana to Vistana preference, so it really depends on where you want to go.

I agree with the previous responses: II has higher quality resorts generally, but only about 60% of the number of resorts in its portfolio as compared to RCI. Since you want to trade internationally, RCI will offer more choices, although the quality of the offerings may not be to your Vistana standards.

As both of the previous posters have pointed out, it really depends on where you want to go. If your destinations include Hilton properties, for example, then you're going to be happy with the exchange. If, though, you're looking to go farther afield (Scandinavia, for example, or most Asian destinations), you will be subject to whatever RCI can offer in those locales. All that said, there are some very nice independent exchanges through RCI. They won't have the reassurance of the hotel brand (Marriott, Hilton, Starwood), but they can still often be very nice. You'll be forced to do your homework by reading member reviews on TUG (which I find the most reliable), Redweek (less reliable), and TripAdvisor (usually lacks the perspective of experienced timeshare users).

My bottom line advice? I'd stick with II. From your signature, it looks like you've been able to land some very nice trades--and you're clearly used to the kind of quality that Vistana can give you. By going with RCI, you'll be taking on more risk of getting an exchange you won't be happy with.

Stick with II. I have experienced better resorts and many more requested exchanges with II. In RCI I have to settle for alternate choices.

Neither, if you can find what you want internationally with DAE! Both RCI and II are rip city!

II for sure. I had RCI for the first 10 years and then I moved to II for the following 10 years. There is no comparison, II wins hands down and many times over.

I use both RCI and II. Your question can only be answered based on where you want to go.

Example: I want to go to Orlando - II all the way, Marriotts there are great!
Example: I want to go to New England - RCI all the way, they have much more options than II.

You mention you wish to travel internationally - I think the best question for you to ask is
I would like to ______, which would be best.

Fill in the area and then someone with international travel experience can chime in.
