Interval International question

Is there a work around with Interval International regarding an expiring exchange week? My time is up in early November for one last exchange week. I would like to use it but can’t take any more time off in 2024.
Is there a way for me to push it into 2025 (i.e. by making a request II can’t fill)?

Thanks in advance for any answers! 😀

You can book something in November, 2024 and then cancel 60 days before the exchanged week in Nov 2024 to get a replacement week that is good for 1 year from the date of cancel. You will need to pay another exchange fee for the replacement week when you are ready to make an exchange. You want to make the cancellation before 60 days to avoid being boxed into Flex Change replacement week where you could only then see and trade into inventory that is 59 days and in.

Eplus can also be used to potentially get an additional two years. I would go the Eplus tour before an exchange and cancel.

The e-plus option would be:

Make an exchange to the latest possible date, any resort that is not all-inclusive, same unit size as your deposit. This MUST happen at least 60 days before the week expires. You probably have to do it this week.
Immediately buy the e-plus for $89. Immediately make the e-plus #1 retrade as far out as possible, s/b around Nov 2025.
You will have (up to) two additional retrades, and nearly one year in which to use them to exchange into your preferred destination.

Things to consider:

If you get the replacement week, you can set up an ongoing search request.

If you use the e-plus option, you must search online, manually.

Thank you everyone! I just booked a week and purchased Eplus. Will have to cancel out in less than a week.

I appreciate the knowledge and quick responses of the veteran Tuggers!

I've not tried the cancel option, so am learning the impacts, I found this below in the terms and conditions. Does that mean the replacement week has a 60 day reservation window (flexchange)? It also seems to say on page 6 para 1(c) that you can make requests in flexchange, which I didn't know, so that's good news.

When I read that OP had one last exchange left, I interpret that to mean that OP has one last ePlus retrade option left. Now that I went back to read, OP might have simply meant having one week left to exchange. I agree that buying ePlus is a better option.

Those terms are for extending a deposit, not a cancellation replacement. When you pay to extend a deposit, it becomes Flexchange restricted. For cancellation replacement, as long as you cancel more than 59 days from checkin of the confirmed week, your cancellation replacement will not be restricted. If you cancel within 59 days of checkin, then it will be restricted to Flexchange.

As for the request you are referring to. This isn't the same as a Pending Request or ongoing search. It just means you must search for inventory that is available in Flexchange. You can't open an OGS inside Flexchange (though there are ways around it)
