Interval International Getaways ( Some Prices Are Crazy!)

We still loved getaways for family getaways. Getaways give us extra time for our personal vacation time. Alone...LOL

Perhaps it is because we live in the UK, but I don’t know anyone who books three months out or less.
It is logistically almost impossible for us to plan trips at such short notice, both for availability and to get even remotely reasonable flight prices.
We still mostly book 13 months out, whether with Weeks or Points, to get what we want.

The UK is a different ballgame. People actually plan and take holiday from what I understand. It’s an important part of life.

In the US people tend to work themselves to death and rarely take time away from work. My step-son has been working for the same company for over 10 years and only receives 2 weeks paid time off. That has to be used for vacation/holiday or sick days. Even when he requests time off it’s often not granted.

Something is up. Marriott weeks are not showing up. Been watching bonus weeks AND getaways for weeks for ORLAND, and if a Marriott week is available, it’s only as an expensive getaway and forget using a bonus week at a Marriott or Sheraton (only no name resorts).
Interval has been useless to me for three years now.

Maybe it's just due to higher demand for MVC resorts in Orlando for the period you're looking at? I just checked with one of the free AC certificates I got from II and I see Marriott Summit Watch as well as MountainSide in Park City, Sheraton Mountain Vista in Avon, and Sheraton Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs, all with multiple options in November. Also available as getaways for $300-$500 range for that same period.

*edited to add:
Also some decently priced getaways for Orlando properties for check-in today, October 30.

I think much depends on the time of year. We did see a period of time for a while there were Marriott weeks in Orlando were showing up again with an AC. There was a phase where they weren't. Generally Marriott's don't show up all that often on an AC unless it is very low season, very last minute or it was during the pandemic.

There i was thinking about dropping RCI and joining interval for the Getaways!
I’m dropping RCI just because it’s RCI. I have been a member since the ‘80s. When I try to trade a studio/sleeps 4 in Florida and can only find 20 out of 200 that are actually 7 night stays, it’s time to get rid of both the timeshare and RCI. Interval offers a much better value.

I dumped my RCI timeshares and the account a few years ago. Someone mentioned earlier about the South African timeshares back in the 90's. I had four that gave me some excellent trades, then, the fees shot up and I was done. I am very disappointed with II right now. It has been very hard this year getting Marriott trades into Orlando and other areas as well, even with my two Marriott ownerships. I keep thinking that things have changed due to more people making up for not traveling during the pandemic. We got some excellent weeks in 2020 and 2021, until now. Even the airfare was great. Now, it's a thing of the past.

I can remember getaways as low as $199.00 & $299.00 a few years ago. LOL
I remember when the last call weeks were $99.00 bucks (1998-2000)

we used to give them away at Christmas. It was really nice doing that but that is forever gone.

Interval added Disney recently. That added 1000's of new owners looking for deals and increased demand for getaways without adding any more supply.
