Does anyone know what the rates are if you put a pending request in for an exchange beyond the three resorts Interval allows you to. I've tried adding another and saw a $59 charge for a resort in U.S and a $79 for one in the Carribbean. I didn't complete the request because I wasn't sure if I would get charged even if they weren't able to fulfill the request. Any info would be helpful. thanks

Are you sure about this?

I had around six resorts identified in my first and only pending request exchange and I don't recall an extra charge for adding more resorts.

I don't know of a limit put on requests. I've had as many as 12 choices on one request. The more choices you have... the better your chances for a match. I also don't know of any fees that cost $59 except the trip insurance and I've only seen that amount during a reservation confirmation. I've been able to add resorts to a pending request online, however, if you're having trouble, call II and have a VC add the other resort/s.

They charge more for international requests. (Who knows why?) If your first three resorts were domestic and you added an international one, then the fee would get jacked up. And, no, even if they don't confirm the international choice, you don't get a refund.

If you did not purchace insurance and try to add a resort to your request the $59 insurance will come up. You need to decline it if you don't want it. It is also true that if you had a request for a domestic exchange and you add a resort that is international they will charge you the differance.

okay, let me try this again. I did not order the insurance, I unchecked it and the amount is $56 not $59. The only thing I can think is the amount is there because this is the first resort I added that is not within the Marriott system. If they don't respond to my email within a day or so I'll contact them but I find it hard to believe I'm the only one this happens to.

That's definitely it -- once you added the non-Marriott resort to your search, you were charged the non-Marriott exchange fee.
