I have a one bedroom from Vistana Villages deposited with Interval. I would like to exchange the one bedroom unit into a 2 bedroom at a Marriot or Westin in Hawaii.

Can I request only 2 bedroom units (i.e. no one bedrooms). I recall in the past that I could not limit the requests for a unit that was larger than what I was trading. One technique was to request resorts that didn't have one bedrooms such as Marriott Waiohai but I would like to expand the search to the Maui resorts which all have the smaller units.

When I went through trying to book it online, it appears that I can limit my request to a certain size as long as I am willing to pay the upgrade fee.

Can anyone confirm how this work?

You will be very lucky to get anything 2 bedroom with a one bedroom. The trading power of Vistana has suffered a severe downgrade.

Today's bulk banking of Westins are an example of the downgrade. No longer do my one bedrooms in Myrtle Beach for Gold Plus season pull one bedrooms on Maui. My platinum float one bedroom week will pull the 1 bedrooms. I only have one of those.

My two bedrooms will pull the one bedrooms, but they could not pull Westin Nanea 2 bedrooms, unless I used a full 2 bed lockoff.

I am able to see the one bedroom Westin Maui units with our one bedroom Vistana. I see the same with a 2 bedroom. I am looking for next May so none of the units available meet our timeframe. The plan is to try to get lucky while I am waiting to get within the 8 month reservation period. Thanks for the insight and setting the expections right.

Yes you can limit your search to only 2-bedrooms. Just make that selection with the slider bar on the interval site when you are entering the request.

There are usually bulk deposits for Hawaii Marriotts for April and May, that drop from December to February.
