Hi all:
I was wondering if it will be worthwhile for me to bring my laptop during our visit this coming January. Is there ethernet/ wireless in the rooms and is this free for UVC members or is there a daily/ weekly charge? Depending on the charges it may be worthwhile in order to be able to use Skype to call home.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve: this item is taken from News Between Amigos, Summer 2008: This Magazine is emailed to you or mailed to ALL MEMBERS, I have just received my Winter Mag.

Another thing you may have noticed when
you visited recently: The internet connections
at the resorts have been upgraded and we
now have internet available in all units for a
daily usage fee. Members and guests may
still access the internet in the cyber café
located at Palmita Market if you would prefer
to leave your laptop at home.
News from the Club Director
For those of you that are Gold members;
we now offer complimentary wireless
internet service for you in all of our
lobbies or the hospitality suite.
Visit
the UVC offi ce on-site to obtain the
password.

I hope the above helps you, I keep all my Magazines in hard copy which is delivered via email and I print out the important sections, also keep the whole email from UVAC. I take my laptop but we are there for 2 months so it comes in handy for making other reservations and of course connecting with my kids. Paula :)

There is a dsl cable in your unit that you can use for $15.00 a day. If you have skype its worth it for sure.

Hi easyrider: thanks for that info. wow, $15.00 per day for in unit internet for Gold Members, well can't afford that for 8 weeks. Why are they charging so much, I pay for HS cable 39.00 per month at home . I would pay $5.00 per day, the darn cable connection is right there in kitchen by counter and I have my own dsl cable always take that with me when I go away. Oh I am upset, in the Marriott as soon as you enter the unit and lift lid of laptop you are connected, wireless of course. Oh boy and I don't like walking to the lobby and using it as I like to connect it to my vonage or now it will be the magicjack. Thanks again, Paula.:(
