That doesn't sound so good. I hope that doesn't happen. So they can dissolve the trust and leave everyone out in the dark? Their investment gone poof?

I don't see that happen even if Wyndham itself get dissolved or bankrupted. But the trust is purely controlled by Wyndham, which maybe one day decides it wants to do something crazy just because it can, Or maybe one day it decides it need to rebuild something so that it can change the whole TS industial for the 2x century. We saw that happen all the time, so can not rule it impossible.

You could combine at the 10 month mark. What you could do if you wanted a big unit is book the number of days that you have points for at the 13 month mark, then at the 10 month mark add the additional days.

I would suggest booking the weekends first as they tend to go first, then go back to try to get the remaining days you need when the rest of the inventory opens up. If you don't get what you need you can always cancel the whole thing.

That seems like an good idea, although I'm the type of person that likes to know well in advance that a block is reserved. So I'll probably be better off just buying a sizable chunk of points at Bonnet Creek or something better. . .

i am waiting for the contract number to confirm the vailidity of the points with the resort but my next question is if the points are added in January and currently if it takes 2 months to close this deal, will i miss out on banking the points but still have to pay the maintenance fee?

thanks!

Basically yes. Officially you can't bank your current years usage into future years usage in your first year of usage, as it would be too late to bank.

You have to use up the points in either Wyndham's system or deposit them in RCI or II whatever exchange company you have affiliated with your account.

You will be able to "POOL" 2010 point usage. Pool is Wyndham speak for rolling the points over to extend their life for 3 years from the pool date. You may only pool regular points not canceled points.

So Sandy, if the points are granted in January, and this deal doesn't close till say February, i probably can't bank them, but i could still use the points in 2009?

You can still use them for 2009 internal exchange, and you can deposit them to RCI/II or any exchange companies.

It depends on the use year, but yes. Wyndham has more than 1 use year, they have 4. A Jan 1 start date, a Apr 1 start date, July 1 start date or a Oct 1 start date.

If it is a fixed week converted to points it is likely a Jan 1 use year, but if the property was sold as points only it could 1 of 4 of the use year start dates.

You can use the points in Wyndham in 2009 or deposit them into RCI/II.
