I called Wyndham/RCI this morning to look at getting into Cabo next Jan/Feb. I was given one choice for the week I wanted. It was Grand Velas Resort, I could trade in without issue. Then the RCI rep told me I had to pay $1400 per day for all inclusive. I thought, that’s not too bad for pesos. Then he straightened me out. No, it’s $9,000 USD per week for the two of us. And it wasn’t an option. Does anyone actually pay that? I thought it was ridiculous!!
So, does anyone have a suggestion for a less expensive option? I’m thinking I can get a week from someone else and not pay for mandatory AI.
We do own at Vidanta. I can spend the $1400 per week to get into Grand Mayan, but we’d also like to see what else is available. I’m pretty sure we can eat and drink for less than $9,000 for a week.
Thanks

Why not look at RCI yourself. There are lots of non-AI timeshares.

If you want all-inclusive in Cabo, Fiesta Americana is somewhat reasonable. And as mentioned, there are non-AI resorts. Some of the non-AI resorts are within walking distance of the marina, which makes it pretty easy to eat well without an AI deal.

I don’t think I want All Inclusive. $9,000 a week for food and beverage seems a bit high to me.
I’ll check out the RCI site. I haven’t spent time on it before. Just recently sent Wyndham points to RCI. Wanted to stay in a Wyndham, but didn’t see any listed for Cabo.

There's the WorldMark Coral Baja, which you can get through Club Pass. There are some 1 BR Deluxe weeks available there now for February 2024; not sure if they'll still be there at the 9 month point.

Thank you! I’ll see what I can get done.

I keep learning. I guess Club Pass is cash only? Can’t use points? At least that’s what I’m being told..

With Club Pass, you can use developer purchased Wyndham points and pay a $99 fee to make the reservation. Availability for WorldMark now shows up when doing searches in Wyndham.

Not happening. Not outside the 9 month window. At least that’s what I’m told. We are also Vidanta owners. I may just grab a second week at Vidanta Cabo, and quit fighting it.

Vidanta Cabo is in San Jose. If you want to stay in Cabo San Lucus you’ll hv to look for resorts there. Whoever said there are lots of non all inclusive resorts in Cabo is wrong. RCI has Pueblo Bonito Sunset, Rose, Playa Grande, Marina Fiesta optional AI, a few others.
Interval International has a few also Corazon, Casa Dorado Medano, Casa Dorado Cabo San Lucus, Vista Encandata which is gorgeous, Haceindas Encandata which is on the same property also very nice. A few others

One of your problems might be lots of resorts have not banked their weeks for 2024 yet so you might either want to wait a few months at least one or put a search in.

Have you looked at Costco Travel? Many times they have some good deals that include airfare.

The 3 Pueblo Bonito Resorts , Villa del Palmar, Villa del Arco and Marina Fiesta ? in Cabo do not require AI.
