The integration of BG into the HGV family was discussed in the HGV 2024 Q3 Investors Call.

HGV is launching HGV Max sales for BlueGreen next week. They also discussed the rebranding of the BlueGreen resorts.

Ever since the change to call in center, my reservations have been messed up and there is always a 90 minute wait time to speak to an agent.

They still seem to be rather scant on details. No mention of how Bluegreen points may be adjusted to bring them in line with the current HGVC and HVC points valuations.

That certainly doesn't look like a launch of a program to me as stated in the HGV investor call. But then corporate spin wasn't my strong suit.

When they rolled out Max initially, I don't think the cross booking ability actually existed yet? So perhaps it is like then, tease it, sell it but won't have the ability to cross book for a while.

It looks like you’d have to purchase something new, and not just the $7K straight buy-in that was offered to HGVC members. Also note the wording that they’d keep “many of the same benefits” they currently have with BG. Emphasis on “many”; it appears they are acknowledging the situation with DRI owners who lost valuable benefits when they “upgraded” to Max.

Thanks @CoopMcCord for posting the letter, I did not get it and I am out of the country so can’t access the BG website (such a modern company)
For anyone who has website access, does it have any more info than what is in the email?

I am at a Bluegreen resort and just got the pitch to crossover to Hilton. We are like a lot of bluegreen folks who just pay the fees and use the properties. We had not heard of the Hilton purchase. They started with a 55000 cost to crossover and finished with a 12000 grand offer including Hiltons fees being offset by us selling some points back to Hilton each year. After the fee offset our present 8000 bluegreen points end up at 92000 Hilton points. Thoughts?

Is that $55,000?
and $12,000?

Take a deep breath - if you read the FAQ I posted, you become a member of Max by purchasing additional BG points.

I do not know the “currency” of the Max program (I am a BG owner) but for $12,000 how many additional BG points are you getting? And I would not believe the “offset points by selling back to Hilton” - ask yourself why would Hilton need your BG or Max points?

Hilton Resorts have point values of 5,500 or 7,800 or 6,500 so I can’t say where the 92,000 Hilton Points come into play.
I do not know what “currency” the former Diamond resorts would be.

At this time, there are too many unknowns about the intergration of BG into the Max program. According to the FAQ, it is not going to roll out until late 2025.
Ask yourself what would you gain by joining Max?
Many Hilton Owners report you lose certain perks when you join.
Wait and see is probably the best at this time.

Your maint fee will remain the same as all other BG owners - Base fee plus club dues plus $ per point. Just more scare tactics from sales.

If your BG is paid off you can give away for free (on TUG/Facebook) or sell for a small amount on one of many Facebook groups.
If you have a loan, you are stuck.
There are many posts on this Bluegreen board about how to do that. Bluegreen also has an exit program where they will take back your points for the fee of 18 months maint fee.
Even if you give away for free it will cost you $500 transfer fee.
18 month MF is $375+184+820 ish so to be out easily it could be worth it
Only you can decide.

I am being told that the crossover cost will be 55000 later for the 4000 bg points if I do not take it now, They are saying that they have to offer the 12000 value now because I canceled on that offer earlier and they have to start with that offer now? But, if I turn it down it will not be available later.

Lies, who in their right mind would ever buy 4,000 BG points $55,000. They must be smokin‘ crack 😎

Which doesn't translate to BG or HGVC or HC points.
Sure, but the big selling point is converting to HHonors, why wouldn’t we say that. We know that it’s not a good use of points but the salesman assumed anybody that comes to their desk are uninformed and will eat it up.

If they are rebranding most of BG into HVC, maybe they don’t want to go down that route. If the points are devalued going into the new system, I can see HGV not wanting to tell a potential BG customer that what they are buying will be worth less in a few months/years than what it is today.

I also think that they are talking about Hilton Honor points which is hilton hotel points NOT TS points. I agree with @GrayFal, too many unknowns at this time (like where is the program/rules?). When they do roll out the program you won't want it anyways. I can certainly suggest a much cheaper resale than $55K

From the FAQ

Will HGV Max impact my maintenance fees?
Your maintenance fees are determined by the total number of points you own. Membership in HGV Max does not impact how your maintenance fees are assessed.

Will becoming an HGV Max Member change my existing Club fees?
Your Club Dues may change depending on the timeshare interest you currently own. The 2024 HGV Max Club Dues are $299; please note this rate is subject to change. Your Standard Bluegreen Vacation Club Dues are part of your HGV Max Club Dues. They include all the operational expenses associated with your ownership at the Club level, including but not limited to, access to the toll-free reservations phone number, Vacation Specialists, your magazine and newsletter, your Member website and management of the Club Contact Center. If you become an HGV Max Member, your HGV Max Club Dues will also include reservation transaction fees applicable when staying at HGV Max in-network properties.

Will I pay a fee to join HGV Max?
A Member who makes a qualifying purchase to HGV Max will pay a one-time enrollment fee and an annual HGV Max Club Dues payment.

Will my Bluegreen Vacation Club benefits continue if I don’t join HGV Max?
Yes, your current Bluegreen Vacation Club membership and associated benefits will continue to exist, and you’ll retain access to the benefits associated with your membership as noted in your Club rules guide, Roadmap to Great Vacations.

Do I have to join HGV Max?
No, you don’t have to join HGV Max. Your current Bluegreen Vacation Club membership will continue to exist, and you’ll continue to access the benefits associated with your membership as noted in your Club rules guide, the Roadmap to Great Vacations.

I’m a Bluegreen Vacation Club Member. If I purchase into HGV Max, will I lose my existing Club benefits?
When you join HGV Max, most of your Club benefits will remain the same, but some will be eliminated or replaced once HGV Max benefits are activated in 2025. For instance, Traveler Plus program benefits will be consolidated as part of the HGV Max benefits. You will continue to enjoy many of these benefits without the separate renewal fee.
Also, Choice-related benefits will be phased out at a later date, including the Choice VIP Rate, conversion of Bluegreen Vacation Club Points to Choice Privileges program, Choice properties available via Direct Exchange, automatic Elite status with the Choice Privileges program and bonus rates for early conversions. Finally, Premier Members will not have access to Exchange Company Upgrades.

What are some of the HGV Max features that will be available to Bluegreen Vacation Club Members with HGV Max benefits?
Members who make a qualifying purchase to HGV Max, will continue enjoying many of their Bluegreen Vacation Club benefits until the new HGV Max benefits are activated in 2025. These new HGV Max benefits when they launch, including:
  • An expanded portfolio of properties featuring a new HGV Max Reservation Window starting six months before check-out (exceptions apply).
  • The ability to convert Bluegreen Vacation Club Points to Hilton Honors Points every other year.
  • An HGV Max Rate with Hilton that provides a 10% savings off the regularly published rates when making reservations online at more than 7,600 Hilton hotels and resorts, subject to availability.
  • Automatic enrollment in the Hilton Honors Program with elevated status.
HGV Max Members can view a list of benefits on the Member website at bluegreenowner.com/hgv-max (opens in a new window).

Are there any benefits which will go away when I join HGV Max?
You will retain access to your existing Choice benefits until HGV Max benefits are enabled in 2025. Once this occurs, you will gain the following benefits with Hilton: Automatic enrollment in the Hilton Honors program, the ability to convert your Bluegreen Vacation Club Points to Hilton Honors Points and an HGV Max Rate with Hilton. At the same time, the following Choice benefits will no longer be available: the Choice VIP rate, the ability to convert Vacation Points to the Choice Privileges program, reserve Choice-branded properties via Direct Exchange and automatic Elite status with the Choice Privileges program.

How does HGV Max impact my RCI benefits?
All Bluegreen Vacation Club Members regardless of their HGV Max status are eligible for RCI exchanges.

Will HGV Max impact availability for existing Bluegreen Vacation Club Members who do not join the program?
Bluegreen Vacation Club Members will have the same access to existing properties they’ve always had, including their Premier Waitlist reservation options. In addition, inventory within the HGV Max program is based on exchange usage among Members with HGV Max benefits to maintain the integrity of the cross-booking platform, so availability at Bluegreen Vacations resorts will be limited through 2025 for non-Bluegreen HGV Max members. Once cross-booking is available, Members with HGV Max benefits will be able to confirm reservations at the start of the HGV Max Reservation Window (up to six months in advance of the check-out date at most properties), subject to availability.

I’m a Bluegreen Vacation Club Member with Premier status. Why do I have to pay more to join HGV Max?
Your Premier status delivers you access to the best vacation experiences with more options as part of the Bluegreen Vacation Club. The HGV Max program will expand your access to more properties in more destinations. As a valued Premier Member, you will not only retain your status in the program, but also gain access to a suite of new benefits when launched, including discounts across the Hilton portfolio of hotels and resorts.

How does HGV Max impact the Premier Program?
Before the launch of HGV Max, the Annual Free Stay During Blue or White Season was modified for Premier Members. As a result, Members are not allowed to deposit their Blue or White Week into RCI or access Exchange Company Upgrades. In addition, as many benefits that previously required a Traveler Plus membership to access are now included in HGV Max, Platinum and Diamond Members will no longer receive complimentary Traveler Plus Membership as part of their Premier benefits.

How does the “Secure Your Status” campaign, or the increased Premier Level Point requirements, apply to HGV Max?
The “Secure Your Status” campaign allows Bluegreen Vacation Club Members to upgrade their tier status based on the current Premier level points requirements before they increase in the future. This campaign will continue to be available following the launch of HGV Max for a limited time until January 2025. The “future” point levels are anticipated to go into effect after this time.
The current and future annual point level requirements for each Premier tier are as follows:
Current
Future
Bronze: 15,000 – 19,999
20,000 – 29,999
Silver: 20,000 – 34,999
30,000 – 49,999
Gold: 35,000 – 59,999
50,000 – 74,999
Platinum: 60,000+
75,000 – 114,999
Diamond: 100,000+
115,000+
When the “future” point levels go into effect, existing Bluegreen Vacation Club Members will retain their current Premier status until they qualify for the next Premier tier through additional purchases. To achieve a higher Premier status, after the “Secure Your Status” campaign ends, the “future” point level requirement would still apply. The grandfathering only applies to the Member’s existing tier.
As an example, an existing Bluegreen Vacation Club member with 20,000 points would qualify for Premier Silver status based on the “current” point level requirements. Once HGV Max is launched and the “future” point levels go into effect, the Member is grandfathered into the Premier Silver tier.

These are not all of the questions answered but some are repetitive.
