DH goes tonight for his sleep apnea testing. He was tested a several years ago and they said he had it, but not too bad. It's got to be really bad now, given his symptoms. We are both hopeful that he'll be able to use something (CPAP, etc.) to get him some sleep relief. He's in a very stressful job and trying to function on 4 or less hours of sleep, day after day, week after week, is killing him. I am afraid often that my use of that word is not figurative.
Most new users of CPAP need a whole lot of support. Some get used to it the first day. There's a board called cpaptalk.com that is full of very, very, knowledgeable users. He will learn very quickly that users on that board are more knowlegeable than sleep docs on the equipment. Make sure he reads it before he gets a machine and ensures it is a fully data compatible CPAP that can provide extensive data, not just compliance hours and limited data. I started CPAP almost a year ago, and it has not improved my sleep but it has improved my Apnea events. I sleep a whole lot less. Please read the board I suggested and learn.
