Does anyone have any information on what impacts defaulting a timeshare loan in Mexico will have other than the negative impact to your credit? Can they take a primary residence, etc? Thanks.

You should carefully read your copy of all of the documents you signed. It's very likely that you agreed to be responsible not only for the loan and any late fees, but also for all collection costs if you are delinquent. The legal costs for the collection attorney can mount up in a hurry.

If collection on this loan would push you into bankruptcy, you'll have to check the laws for the state where you live to determine what assets would be protected from creditors.
