Hi All,
Could someone please tell me :
1)Are there king size beds at this resort? 2)Where to get a great steak or prim rib. 3)What is there to do close to the resort? 4)Where is the resorts location to the boadwalk?
I haven't been to AC in 10 years or more. DH and I will be celebrating our anniversary and arriving on May 18 and staying till the 22nd :( (wish we could stay for the whole week)
anyway, glad to get away from the kids:whoopie: after our spring break-the-bank trip to Orlando. Had a great time but never seem to get enough down time with kids!
TIA to those who can answer my questions.
Sandy

Hi Sandy...I'll answer what I can. We're going to be staying at the Flagship this July.

1) I believe the beds are queen-size.

2) Can't help you with this. I go to AC mainly to play poker and I usually eat on the cheap, but I'll bet you'll find a good meal at Borgata, Caesar's or Tropicana.

3) You can usually find some good shows at the casino's. I can recommend The Scintas at Harrah's. We saw their show in Vegas and it's very good, and it's a great price in AC (only $25)! The Comedy Stop at the Tropicana is usually pretty good too. If you like to shop, there are outlet stores right behind Caesar's. There's also the Steel Pier which has a few big thrill rides and a bunch of smaller ones.

4) The resort is waaaay at the end of the Boardwalk (and around the corner). It's about a 10-15 minute walk along the Boardwalk to the closet casino (The Showboat). Go to the resort website (www.flagshipresort.com) and you'll find a small map that shows the location of the resort. You can also see pictures of the rooms here.

Hope this helps.

Hey Art,
Thanks for the info. I hope us exchangers can get a room like the one on the web site. The place looks really nice. I did see the map, and it is around the corner. Does the boardwalk go around the corner? Can't wait to go and relax.
We don't have much time so most of it will be spent at the resort. The comic show sounds good though! Thanks again.
Sandy

Sandy,
There are a couple of different styles of rooms. One has a regular table to eat at and the other has just a counter to eat at. The boardwalk does go around the corner. You need to cross the street (not very busy) to get to it.
If you only go to one show, go see the Scinta's. It's a musical/comedy show done by a family of siblings. You can check it out at www.thescintas.com. They regularly perform in Vegas. We saw them at the Rio but now they're at the Sahara. They take the show on the road once in a while so this would be a good chance to see them while they're on the East coast. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

There is a Gallagher's Steakhouse branch at the Resort's Hotel just one block away. Ate their in October and it was just as good as the NYC original (incredible meat - one of NYC's best).

There's a high end steakhouse at the Bellagio too.

There is also a free shuttle service every hour that takes you to a casino. Not sure which one since they keep changing but it was to Taj mahal I believe the last time we were there. The shuttle also takes you back and the service was very reliable when we used it. We also walked from the resort on the boardwalk several times and it takes about 15 minutes to the showboat ( my wife walks slow).

I thought the beds were king size but not sure so they may be queen but very comfortable. Ask for a unit on a high floor. We got the 17th floor ocean view and the views were amazing.:hi:

How far is it to the beach? What is the beach like at the end of the boardwalk?

Thanks to all for the great suggestions. Art, I did check out "thescintas" site and it sounds great. Thanks again.

We stayed there in Sept 01. We took the shuttle to/from the boardwalk. The people at the resort strongly urged us NOT to walk to/from the boardwalk. You have to be very careful of where you go off the boardwalk especially at nite. Unfortunately AC is a high crime area but they are trying to clean it up. The refurbished million dollar pier is now open with high end stores and there is alot of new shopping areas not too far from the boardwalk. I suggest you stop at the tourist information booth on the AC highway if you can to get information. Cape May is only a few hours away and a nite quaint town to walk around.

OK, WOW. Went on trip advisor and found a lot of good and bad about the Flagship Resort. Don't know what to think! Can I get some help here from other "Exchangers" into this resort? Checking-in on May 18th.
TIA,
Sandy
