I have some concerns about where my VV ownerships may be headed. That said, the more I look into Vacatia the more I have at least a little bit of hope that they are making an effort to fix sone of the things that traditional timeshare properties have not done that well.

Vacatia has taken over timeshares and raised maintenance fees. Not sure why they won an award.

They have not been good communicators in their acquisition of VV. I will cut them some slack for that later if they run things better.

Anyone else see similarities between Vacatia and Capital Resorts? Both private equity backed, both acquired TS management companies and resorts, both boast about what they can do for independent resorts ...

PE sees opportunity in TS world and that opportunity isn't to provide top notch resorts and services to owners for a reasonable profit ... it's more like to extract as much revenue as possible from an asset (the contractually obligated 'owners', management contracts, and real property). PE backing likely means Vacatia has 5-7 years at most to do something significantly profitable for the investors ... maybe that is to transform into one of the big players in the industry, or perhaps be acquired, or go through a lot of 'value extracting' spinoffs, sales, etc
