looking for a good sized indoor pool to do lap swimming...preferably an II resort but I can also book thru RCI...

I've searched through and seen some photos but there doesn't seem to be many photos of indoor pools...one that looks impressive is at the Williamsburg Plantation (II)

Timeframe I'm looking to go is 3rd week in April (spring break this year)

TIA!!

Marriott Manor Club has an indoor pool. It's not huge but its your basic rectangle. Years ago we were at Williamsburg Plantation but I can't remember much about the indoor pool so can't compare.

Wyndham (FF) Kingsgate has a pool in their activity center that seemed good size. Not Olympic but usable for your purpose. Don't know about II, though.

Kings Creek has a big indoor pool. They also have a nice outdoor pool but I don't know if it operates in the winter.

One thing about the Cottages at Kings Creek, the 2 bedroom units are huge but the one bedroom units are too small for anybody other than a couple and even then they are small. If you can, get a 2 bedroom unit.

The best indoor pool in Williamsburg is located at King Creek Resort in my opinion. Second will be The Marriot's at Ford Colony.

The King's Creek indoor pool is very nice and large. Two "lumps," one side that's zero-entry for the kids, and the other a big, almost-Olympic-sized lap pool. Nice locker rooms, too.

There are 2brs at the Cottages at King's Creek and 2brs at the Townes at King's Creek and all of those are very very large. The 1brs, which are at the Cottages, are indeed really small. Go for a 2br, or you might even be able to get a 3br, which would be both sides of a Cottage.

I'm a lap swimmer too, and none of the ones we stayed at - Marriott Ford's Colony, Plantation, and Fairfield - was particularly good for real lap swimming.

The longest was at the Plantation - not long, but a decent length given that it's not intended to be a lap pool.

HOWEVER, at the Plantation, the water was very warm and kind of murky. (They did major pool renovations since we were last there, so maybe that's changed.)

You could call each front desk and ask them to measure or pace off the pool's length - I've done that before!

At all three I was disgusted at the cleanliness - or lack thereof - at the indoor pools. Wear sandals and shower after swimming.

thanks!

I booked a 2 bdrm Townes at Kings Creek. Thanks so much for all the inputs! The lap pool is really for my DD who's on a swim team - she needs to keep up with practice (she thinks I'm mean by making her practice while we're away...)

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions later on about what to do/how to get there/where to shop etc...(after I go thru all the previous posts on williamsburg.)

Williamsburg Plantation has what they call "Adult Lap Swimming" at their indoor pool every morning from 8 am to 9 am. It is only for those aged 18 or older. I was at Willliamsburg Plantation in December. We did not use the pool at all, however it looked clean, and never seemed to be crowded. The indoor pool is a narrow, but lengthy pool, and it does have lanes marked.

Powhatan Plantation (or whatever Diamond is now calling it) has an indoor pool in the recreation building. It was refurbished only a few years ago. It also has whirlpools. PP is also the only resort I have seen with racquetball courts. They still had them when we were there two or three years ago.
