I am confused.
If I was to book a hotel room (sleeps 2) at the Imperial Fiesta Club at Casa maya Cancun, what room type would I receive?
Would it be an actual hotel room or would it be a studio with a kitchenette?

Any info. about the above mentioned ? or any information about this resort would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Room or studio

Casa Maya is an older hotel with a nice beach and a separate building with T/S units. I don't know its present condition because we stayed there only once a few years ago. In my opinion if you book a hotel room that is what you get. They do accomodate small tour groups. But Casa Maya is sometimes available as a getaway and, depending on your time frame, you may be able to get a studio with a partial kitchen for a reasonable price. Don't be suprised if all you get in a partial kitchen is a toaster, a micro and a minifrige. Enough to keep your drinks cool but no place for your icecream.

Thanks so much for the info.
On the web site where I am looking at it , it is saying hotel room that sleeps 2 but the picture shows a studio (with what looks like a mini kitchen at the back).

I just thought it was strange since it is being called Imperial Fiesta at Casa Maya. From the rci web site, it looks like the Imperial Fiesta ONLY offers studios and larger. If it was a hotel room at Cada Maya, I think it should say that.

Thanks again for the info. It looks like an ok place.
Do you remember if the beach wold be suitable for children to swim at or was it too rough??

Thanks

I would not rely too much on RCI photos. Yes, the beach is quite suitable for children as it is partially sheltered by a large offshore island. Some boat tours to the island leave from a nearby dock. This hotel is actually in a good location being quite close to the city. There is frequent and cheap public bus service into the city right close to the hotel. There are also a few stores nearby but I would not buy any food supplies there except softdrinks.

We are also going to Cancun in early Dec. but we will be staying south of the airport in the area known as Riviera Maya. Hope you have a good trip.

You might be getting a lock off from the 2 bedroom unit. If thats the case you wont have the studio with kitchen. I'm purchasing a 1 bedroom there that I bid on at ebay. I can't wait to go. It is an older resort but the reviews I've read are good and consistant.
