Not sure whether to post this in the Marriott area or here...I'm searching II for spring next year (a specific Caribbean resort) with my Shadow Ridge deposit (Thanksgiving week) which expires in November 2010. This was originally deposited 1 year out. Just out of curiosity, I also searched with my other Shadow Ridge deposit which expires Nov. 2011 (week booked was 2 weeks prior to Txgiving and was deposited about 11 months out). This 2011 week sees more than the 2010 week which leads me to believe that trade power decreases the closer one gets to the expiration date? It's the only conclusion I can come to as all of the criteria I used for both weeks were identical. I ran across this last night, had the same results this morning and again just a little while ago. Is this a trade power issue or and II glitch?

Ingrid

What you're saying is not the way II says it works.

II says that your trading power is fixed the day you deposit your week and doesn't change. So all I can figure is that II has changed how much it values the week from 2010 to 2011.

OR you're right and there is a giltch in the II system.

PS There are many glitchs in the II system. So I wouldn't rule out that this was a glitch.

Its possible that II's demand for your week expiring in 2010 is lower than the later week. The way you describe the deposit, the week expiring in 2010 had a check in of Thanksgiving 2008 and was deposited in the end of 2007. II may have had lower demand for that week due to the economy. Your 2009 week deposited fall of 2008 may have more trade power if II is anticipating increased demand.

Trading power for the same weeks can and will change from year to year. I have seen it a bunch of times over the year with some of my own deposits.

Its also certainly possible it is a glitch but it isnt unusual to see these results.

YOY change makes sense...I'll have to remember to do some tests when I reserve and deposit my '10 week in November.

It was an II glitch. As of today, both weeks see the same  . I kept testing every few days and today is the first time both weeks are equal...in that the "better" week now sees the same as the "lesser" week...the "lesser" weeks was seeing more than the "better" week.
