With either of these, it's unclear to me when you do a search if there's literally only one available for a given week and unit type, or if they don't want you to (or assume you won't want to) book more than one. It seems to me that while there are certainly times where there's literally one or two units ONLY available in the EV/Getaway listings, it also seems like there must be times where there are more at some less in demand resorts, or off season. With RCI it looks like I could book one unit, then see if there is another of that type and at least get something back if not and I therefore don't want a unit at all. With II it's all non-refundable. Do you just call to ask if there's 2 units (I guess one with a guest cert?). I'm still just really unclear how people who are saying they're getting multiple units (some were saying 7!) at the same time in the same place - just what is the technical logistics of it.

I have booked multiple units with RCI (both Last Call & Exchanges and some coupled with our exchange week) many times. Since the RCI website doesn't tell you how many units are available, I always went on their on-line chat and told the rep which resort & week I was looking for. They were able to tell me how many units are available and book all the units for me in case one got booked while I was booking each one individually.
Also, since we were staying at the same resort and time as the rest of our family and or friends, we checked in for all the units (& put up the security deposit for each) so a guest certificate wasn't necessary. One resort (cant remember which) would only let me put my name on 2 units, so hubby (who is co-owner & on the RCI membership) put his name on the other 2 units.

II will often have available units "stacked". Unfortunately there is no way to know if they do without calling them.

That was my question, if calling them was the answer. This seems like a strange way to do it but OK lol. I'll have to keep that in mind.

With II you can also log on via multiple devices and initiate the booking process in one browser, but not complete it, and then look to see if it is there on the other device, if it is, chances are there are multiple units available. You can proceed with booking on each device to get more than 1 unit.
If your ownership is joint and you have 2 separate II login, you can do this for each login and get even more.....
Calling is probably less juggling, but you can do it if calling isn't an option.
I'm sure there's somewhere in II that you can/could search and it tells you the number of units available, it must have been in shortstay getaways or hotel exchanges, but I can't find it now.
