The maintenance slot this morning implemented the display of mandatory fees, at least partially, but there seems to be some more work to do. It shows for the non AI resorts as well as the AI resorts. The DVC $190 resort fee doesn't seem to have been applied, I've not worked out whether taxes are included as there doesn't seem to be any extra for Hawaii, which I would expect. Clearly still work in progress. Clarity has sometimes been reduced as I can't see information on the variable mandatory fees such as utility charges, assuming they haven't just stopped.

People are still going to give themselves a shock when the get to the resort or check-out if they have a different number of people staying from what they put in when they make an II reservation. Particularly for AI costs as well as for Tourist taxes that are based on number of occupants.

Getaways seem to only show the full cost at the payment page and not the search display page. I haven't cross checked the app vs the website.

It will be interesting to see if the presentation changes people's perception of what to reserve given comparisons available at the search page.

My getaway alerts aren’t working. It returns a box with “ok” when I click on view results.

I hope it's still a work in progress because now the search is all messed up.
Makes you choose only the number of guests that you have with your deposit so limits your results.
I am getting better results with the freebie AC than my deposits for Orlando used to with the upgrade fees.
Whats the point of paying for Gold or Platinum accounts. Sheesh.

What I can't determine is if new fees are now in place or if those fees were always there and now it is transparent. For example, have Four Seasons exchanges always come with a huge resort fee? It is also showing my Interval renewal fee in my searches - which I mean I do have to pay - it just feels expensive when it is all laid out in front of you.
I will definitely be redoing some of my regular searches to exclude those properties with big resort fees.

They broke the app, for Android at least, there was an update for it, that didn't work, and neither does uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Good news, the alerts work, you just can't then go and see the inventory via the App!!! you have to log in to the website.

Can't you see larger units, I can see larger units with mine. Imperial Palms in Orlando is a goo one to do a test with, as they are all 3-beds.

Hold off making judgements just yet, it doesn't look like the data is right at the moment, so some resorts are not showing fees that we know they charged and others are showing what we are used to, and others are showing higher fees than they have been charging recently.

I see some resorts but only 2 pages of resorts. I usually see 4 or 5. Definitely not my usual results.
They broke it. LOL

I think some things like nightly occupancy taxes will be hard for them to keep up with. Especially for places where it changes every year and varies by unit size. I suspect they will rely on the resorts to always provide them the latest numbers.

Assuming they work out the bugs with this new system, I like it! So much easier to see total cost of getaways/certificates/exchanges with resort fees.

The problem is that they have taxes for some and not others. Thats going to cause resorts that are in the same area to have different costs when its due to one having taxes and the other not.

Poor Quality Assurance testing. Looking at ACs, properties with no resort fee show exchange fee of 0.0. Those with a resort fee show total exchange and resort fee, but not sales tax.

Clicking at other dates on the app, it randomly adds fees to same resort that was there earlier.

It would be better to rollback the changes than to cause confusion.

It has not even been live one day, I've seen they are already adjusting things across the resorts. Just be patient.

I prefer this to the previous system, although it isn't perfect, it at least gives an idea of which resorts are tacking on a lot of extra fees on top of exchange fees.

Yes, Four Seasons has always had the big resort fees. It's the main reason I never pulled the trigger on exchanging into their properties.
