Saw this. Looks like about 5 days left. We did an exchange last night, Marriott to Marriott for $0 exchange fee, and got the free AC offer.

The AC pricing is tiered based on unit size. I'm not sure how availability compares to the freebie ACs.

Studio - $279.00
One-bedroom - $329.00
Two-bedroom - $379.00
Three-bedroom - $429.00
Four -bedroom - $479.00

I made an exchange yesterday and received the cert below. What is "free" about it?

1740491131604.png

What do they mean by "Cannot be used to travel...within your home resort group?"
Does that mean that I cannot reserve Marriotts or Vistanas with this?

We really have no idea what that means. That language has never prevented us from using them to book Marriott properties in the past. I think it could be something like if you got it for an exchange using MGV ownership and you couldn't use it to book MGV or MGR. That said, I've still not noticed any real restriction in practice.

@dioxide45 is it valid for 12 months, does it have the ability to make a request and is the reservation window limited to less than 12 months.
Thanks 🙏

Do you have two II accounts, one for enrolled weeks and one regular? The promotion is for both?

Yes both. I see the offer in my enrolled account and in my voluntary account.

We don't have an active individual "unenrolled" account. I do see it in both our Marriott and Vistana enrolled II accounts.

I see that even when I am working on my MANY retrades, it's showing as a benefit, which is just weird because I am retrading.

I have AC's that I do NOT use, not ever, no way to use those, they are a waste of time.

The bonus AC even shows that you can earn it by redeeming this AC.

I always heard that Marriott to Marriott for $0 exchange fee. But if I deposit the 2 bedroom unit and I have to pay deposit fee, right? like $159 or higher now?

Marriott to Marriott is $0 exchange fee IF the Marriott you deposit is enrolled in Abound. There is no fee just to deposit, only if you are exchanging into a non-Marriott or placing a request that includes a non-Marriott.

Oh, when I owned DSV II, I deposited to II three years with 1 br and studio split to two weeks, each one was charged $159, Maybe split the 2 bedroom is the reason to be charged $159 each?

You would have paid a lock off fee to Marriott. Not sure what it was at the time. You don't pay when you deposit but there is currently a fee of $164 to confirm an exchange or place a request. If you place a request, you also pay the $164 up front but it would be refunded if you cancel the request before a match. At no time since we bought in 2007 has II charged a fee to deposit.

Lock off and exchange fees no longer apply for Abound enrolled weeks.

Yeah, the promise of an AC is not something that would ever influence my trading or depositing behavior. I used to at least look at the ACs but now I realize that its not a good use of my time- very unlikely I’d find something I can use.

When is the last time they do a promotion for deposit? (I’ve been with II for over 6 months and haven’t seen one)

It depends on the resort. ACs for deposit are resort dependent.

MVC released one for their weeks, not club points, a week or so ago for 2025 and 2026 weeks. It doesn't seem to be for all MVC resorts. It usually starts around this time of year and initially runs until the 3rd week of June, then gets extended to the first week of Dec. There are specific date ranges that are eligible that also vary by resort, but generally its mid and high season with a selective bit of low season. ...or so it is from my observation, there will be variations as dioxide says by resort, and by brand.

I made an E-plus retrade tonight and got the extra vacation offer. It was a Marriott to Marriott, so it shouldn't have used my E-plus. I'll have to call II for an explanation. No biggie though, I was glad to get the new checkin date on my retrade.

If you've added Eplus, any retrade will use one of the three Eplus retrades. There is no way around that. If you plan to only do Marriott to Marriott/Vistana trades, there isn't a reason to ever add Eplus unless you are using it to extend a deposit.
