No, I do not see it crossed off with a zero below it. I got all the way to the payment page. The charge was $198 for a unit size upgrade, and $89 for E Plus. Do you think it's because I have an II membership through Marriott as a Presidential owner? I do not pay anything to II.
We have an enrolled Marriott account and see the offer. Though we are also II platinum members, but that shouldn't matter.

I see it in my corporate accounts Marriott Vistana as well as personal. Call II to get the promotion. Yes you pay for eplus.

@GrayFal Thanks you for posting this. @dioxide45 Very helpful information. Thanks.

Two more newbie questions:

1) If I exchange SDO 1 bdrm today for 2 bdrm resort I would not likely use, buy ePlus and exchange further out prior to 14 days of arrival, and use up all of my ePlus exchanges, as a plan B, I can still pay another exchange fee and use until the original expiration of 2 years beyond the use year? Do I understand that correctly?

2) If you upgrade to a 2 bdrm does that now give you 2 bdrm trading power to see more trades? if you trade outside of Vistana/Westin, do you lose your original Vistana preference?

Yes, you understand correctly.

No, it doesn't change the trade power of the underlying deposit. Effectivly you should still only be able to trade for what you would have been able to trade for with the original deposit. The benefit it does give you is the ability to retrade into the larger units without paying an upgrade fee.

I just called II. She said the reason I am not seeing the offer is because it was targeted to paid memberships. My membership is free through Marriott and I have not paid extra for an upgraded II membership. She also tried to book for me and could not get the unit upgrade fee waived. I guess up to this point I had never seen any value in upgrading my II membership.

No, I have that and can see the deal.
As a side note, you aren't buying e-plus when you are exchanging to another MVC, Sheraton or Westin are you, as there's no need for it as you have unlimited no fee retrades

Whoa. This is new to me.

So if I trade a Vistana SDO for an MVC resort, I do not need to buy ePlus? to get unlimited trades? What is the deadline for changes without penalty?

Only if you own Abound enrolled ownership and pay club dues and get an II account provided as part of that. The poster said they were presidential and didn't pay for their II account so they are an enrolled owner.
Is your SDO resale and not Abound enrolled?

As long as your original deposit was enrolled in Abound and any trades/retrades are also into Vistana or Marriott resorts. Once you try to get into a non-VSN/MVC resort, you'll have to pay the regular exchange fee.

Thanks for clarifying. No it is resale and not Abound enrolled (we have one other deed that is enrolled but we would not trade it in II.) So it sounds like I need to purchase ePlus.

I have platinum on my personal and "free" Marriott & Vistana accounts.
Platinum works for me because I use guest certificates and unit size upgrades. It is $139.
Without it,
Guest cert $79 and unit upsize $99 .

Strange. I was seeing the deal in my account and now it's a spinning circle. I do see free upgrades after Mar 27 but not prior? I cannot see the terms because I cannot get it to render now.

Upgrade fees don’t apply for trades inside 59 days. You don’t want to trade for one of those anyway. It will lock all retrades into flexchange.

Thanks. Ugh. This is so complicated. If I book a 2 bdrm outside of that window for late March/Early April with ePlus, will I still have up to 14 days prior to trade into a different unit?

You want your placeholder trade to be as far out as possible so you don’t need to burn one of the Eplus retrades so soon.

@dioxide45 I understand. However I am actually planning a trip to Europe for late Mar/early April but need to know the latest day to change to later date if plans do not work out.

What is flexchange? Is that like a restricted trading window?

I noticed that Interval has a size upgrade promotion ending tomorrow.

Does anyone know if I do an exchange with free size upgrade, do I keep the upgraded unit size with a 2nd exchange later on or the next exchange will reverse back to the original villa size?

Thanks,

I would call and ask since this is a special situation if you can’t find the answer in the small print.
The office is closed tomorrow so you would need to call before close tonight.
When you pay for an upsize it continues on as you eplus retrade.

You keep it.

The last time they offered this promotion, I traded a studio for a 2 BR placeholder and bought e-plus. I then traded for a 3 BR for the $59 upgrade fee.
Too bad I didn’t think to go for a 3 BR the first time!

Flexchange is the 59 day window. If your current exchange gets to be less than 59 days from the current date, any retrades will be restricted. Your absolute last day to do an Eplus retrade is 14 days prior to arrival. However, you want to avoid flexchange, so you would want to retrade more than 60 days prior to checkin.

Sorry to ask so many questions but I do not understand the significance of 14 days. So 14 days is last day to retrade ePlus but it will be subject to the 59 day flexchange rule?
