I grabbed off II exchange a one-bedroom at Disney animal kingdom villas at kadani village .The unit code on the confirmation email reads UUUI. What kind of room can I expect ? Can exchanger request Savanna view?
This will be our first time staying on Disney property and my little one’s first time visiting WDW. We are excited but also a bit nervous. There will be a lot of planning to do. Is there any perk staying at DVC ? Do exchangers enjoy the same perks as owners ?
I tried to search the forum but couldn’t find any information. Would much appreciate anyone’s insights from staying there on an exchange!

You can't specifically request savanna view. The only way to know the type of room is when you contact DVC member services to have them locate the reservation, add your guest names to it and provide you with the reservation number. You then take that reservation number to My Disney Experience and add it to your account. It will then show you the room type.

I've stayed there on an exchange. We did get Savanna view (although this was with RCI a few years ago). We got all the perks I thought were important (access to the theme park early/late hours primarily). You can use the transportation although we rented a vehicle. It also comes with included parking at the theme parks.

When we stayed there through an exchange with RCI in 2022, we had a Savannah view from our 1BR.

In addition to the 30 minutes early at the parks perk, there are extended park hours for deluxe guests, which includes Animal Kingdom and all the DVC resorts.

They are usually twice a week.

You can also book dining reservations earlier as a resort guest, which can certainly help with more popular ones. Here is some info.

Be sure to get everyone in your room on the reservation so they can take part in this! You have to call DVC to do it on the phone to do it.

Before you go, I do suggest doing some research to plan your trip. There is a wealth of it on the web. Disboards.com is the biggest forum.

Also be aware that some Standard Views have obstructed views of the Savannah, so even if you get Standard View, you can try to request a room that has at least a partial view.

Extended evening hours as of today are Mondays at Epcot and Wednesdays at Magic Kingdom. Not yet at Animal Kingdom or Hollywood studios. Don’t forget to purchase admission ticket. If you have a car, parking is great under Kidani. The bus system from AKL can be challenging. I would drive to all the parks as long as it’s early……except Magic Kingdom. Taking the bus is a better option. If you park you then have to get on a tram, go to the TTC, then get on the monorail or ferry.
the one bedrooms at Kidani (not Jambo) are wonderful with 2 full baths and a sleeper chair and pull out couch in the living room.
you should try and utilize the large kitchen as much as you can. Prices have really gone up. If you have any general questions, ask away.

As I have posted elsewhere, I drive a bus in between DVC resorts and usually EPCOT. The only issue you may have is if there is more than 70 guests waiting. But, in that case, you'll wait maybe 15-20 minutes for the next bus. I love driving guests, because no one is a stranger! I hear people start conversations with other guests, and no one is negative - except when they want to walk all day but their legs say no! Not to mention, because everyone is at the same resort, they can talk about the accommodations and restaurants. And, unlike parking a car, you are dropped off very close to the gates.

Or if you walk up right as the bus is pulling away. Our biggest issue, and this was many years ago, was being a later stop at a resort with multiple stops. The busses would pull up nearly already full and only a few people could get on. We said f!#k it and got in the rental car we had and drove.

Over the last 4 weeks of driving, the single-stop "Value Resorts" (Pop Century, Art of Animation, All Stars resorts, etc) also fill up at "Rope Drop" as well as closing. Last night, I took people from EPCOT to both Animal Kingdom lodges (Kitani and Jambo), it wasn't crowded until after EPCOT closed. So, like going into and exiting the theme parks, buses and other Disney Transportation also depends on the time of night whether they're full.

Thank you all for the replies! Super helpful. I Appreciated you very much.
Looks like I got tons of homework to do I would like to come back for more questions. Thanks again.

Am just going to mention a couple of things while still on my mind (we just returned from a stay at Bay Lake Tower and Riviera Resort). I do not belong to any other timeshare systems, DVC is my only one (over 20 years).

I am not sure if you would be allowed to purchase a dining plan as an exchanger. We did it for our 2 nights in a studio at Bay Lake. We did not do the counter service one, we did the other one (1 counter service, 1 table service, 1 snack per day and one refillable mug). For 2 adults for two days it was $377. We had to work really hard to get the biggest bang for our buck….we did come out ahead over if we had paid out of pocket; however, we will not do it again. You have to do your homework and study all the menus and prices and more or less organize your day around eating. And in your case, you would have to purchase the dining plan for your entire stay. Since we changed resorts, we were able to do it for the 2 night stay. The next 7 days were in a one bedroom at riviera and with the full kitchen it was very easy to make breakfast, pack a lunch and we did make actual meals a few nights. Maybe the counter service dining plan would work for your family, but it too is pricey.

If you won’t be driving or renting a car, lots of people use instacart for grocery delivery. Disney has changed the rules and I’m pretty sure you have to be at curbside to receive your delivery. Especially is there is beer or wine in your order. We always flew and rented a car before we moved below the mason Dixon line (we drive now). Rates were pretty cheap then. We’d use the car to go to Publix or Winn Dixie (Publix is very close to AKL). There are many restaurant chains close by also. Each resort has its own little grocery section in their stores, but very pricey. One can of beer is about the same price as a six pack in a regular store.

And not to harp about the bus, but if you plan on doing Magic Kingdom in the morning, find out what time the bus starts pick ups. The bus stops at Jambo and Kidani (can’t remember which is first) . Some people will spring for a Minnie Van, as they are allowed to bring you all the way to the kingdom, by where the resorts bus drops you off. Uber and Lyft are not…I believe they have to drop you off at the TTC.

Park buses stop at Kidani first, then Jambo, while Disney Springs buses do the opposite. I’ve read that at park opening time, Kidani and Jambo have their own buses - that might be for MK only.
