I recently discovered TUG -- hello everyone!

Has anyone done an II exchange for a Cruise? The II website states there is a transaction fee for the exchange, plus a variable charge that is based on the value of your TS and the value of the cruise, stateroom, etc.

I'm just wondering if you have a Platinum week to exchange, would those variable $ they charge be a little or a lot? I'm sure a lot depends also on the specific cruise selected, but wondered if it is possible to secure some cruises for only a small amount of extra cash?

I've never done it with II but I looked into it a couple times with RCI.

Beyond the point that I would've given up a week in a Condo (that you pay MF on), their cost (not even factoring in my cost of the TS) was higher than I could have purchased the cruise for anyhow.

I'm sure their may be instances where it works out in your favor, my experiences were not so hot!

These are almost never good deals - you have to give up your TS week and them pay a fee that is nearly as much as a discounted cruise. Especially with the resorts you own - it would be a rip off!

Here's another idea - rent your Hawaii weeks and apply the rent to a cruise.

AND - Welcome to TUG! :hi:
