I can't seem to find in the FAQ's II rules on weeks cancellations. I am looking for the timing of when reservations can be cancelled and the consequences. I also looked on II's site and couldn't easily locate it. I currently have a week reserved within 13 days and may have to cancel it. It was a week I had traded my home resort for. I am wondering if I have any options at this late in the game. I thought I would ask here before I call II.

thanks.

See page 7.

Since you are within 13 days, you have until 7 days prior to cancel and be within the same restriction window. You will only be able to exchange within 30 days out with the replacement week.

Also assuming you don't have E-plus. E-plus has different rules.

Thank you for your quick research on this question SJSHARKIE. It also says that the destinations are limited. So I assume Hawaii is out...that is the reservations I may have to cancel. I am glad I at least bought travel insurance for the flights.

Thanks again

Since you can only search inside of 30 days, you can not place a request. Destinations are limited only based on what shows up. Within flexchange a lot of trade restrictions are lifted. So if you see it, you can grab it.

Would you be better to just let the exchange expire and not cancel? You might be able to possibly file a travel insurance claim for the MF amount. If you cancel and get some type of replacement week, you may not be able to do that. Or is the travel insurance only for the airfare byy purchasing when you bought the tickets?

I think it depends on the reason for the cancellation. If it is for a covered reason (such as illness) this might indeed be the best option.

Yes for some strange reason I purchased travel insurance with the airline tickets. But it was only for the airline tickets. So I have that part covered. I have never done that before.

Dioxide,

I was thinking maybe it is also restricted to not include some resorts in the 30 days, similar to the bonus certificates II gives you with certain deposits. Do you know if this is the case?

thanks

I would definitely give II a call. I once had to cancel due to a serious medical diagnosis only about a week prior to arrival and customer service was great with us allowing us a full use week once I was able to confirm the situation for them. Granted that was 11 years ago but I found them extremely accommodating.

better yet, use the TUG II email. I got AMAZING response from a real, concerned person who knew who I was and knew that I came from Tug.

Great service.

Thank you TUG, Brian, and Taterhead

Personalized service just for TUGGER's. They recently gave me really personalized and helpful support. Give it a shot.

I contacted the personalized support via the response by Taterhead, and email provided by Brian in the link above. I received a nice phone call today from Mark at II and he helped me reschedule my trip out three weeks from its original date but beyond the 30 day window. He couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. I was surprised when they offered me the week I was hoping for. I had to change Hawaii resorts but any of them would have been fine. He also held the reservation for as long as I needed to confirm with my wife. Great job International Interval!
