Hi. I just received a call from II asking if we wanted to rent out some of our getaway weeks (which are unlimited so we aren't losing any apparently - relatively new to using all of these). They said if we accept the rental rate they want to charge, we would get $6300 rental check. This is of course, after paying a $1300/1 yr or $1900/unlimited rental processing fee or whatever they call it up front. Has anyone done this? Is it worth the upfront fee? I need to confirm that they guarantee the time WILL be rented as I don't want to pay and have them say, sorry, we couldn't rent them out. But assuming they will, I am not seeing a catch or downside and that worries me... Thanks.

It is not II - it is a scammer who is trying to rip you off. II does not permit you to rent any of their products - period.

This company will take your upfront fee, and that is the last you will hear from them.

Don't do it.

Thank you! I knew it was too good. Should have just called II directly too, but if it was legit, wanted opinions on it as well.

You already know this, but there is really no way this could in any way be legit. II already has the weeks for rent; that's what Getaways are. If they had a customer that wanted a specific week, they would rent it to them as a getaway. They certainly don't need you to be involved in any way, shape or form. The scammers are good, but a little common sense goes a long way.

If II allowed their weeks to be rented out, you could save yourself the upfront fee and rent them out yourself. II does not allow their inventory to be rented out like this. As you said, you get unlimited getaway weeks and guess what - so does everyone else. There is no reason why someone would need to rent a II week when they can get it directly from II.

If you are still unsure and still believe that it was II who called you, call II from the number on their website and ask them about it. They will tell you that it is a scam and has nothing to do with them.
